DENTON – Senior guard Kendrick Davis is out for 6-7 weeks with a partially torn flexor tendon in the wrist of his left (shooting) hand. Davis had surgery on Thursday to repair the tear he suffered while breaking the window of a hallway door in the Super Pit following a last-second loss to UT-Arlington on Wednesday.

We will severely miss K.D. I hope he can take a medical red shirt and play next year (NT's dream team!). However, we absolutely have the talent to continue winning games. We have a deep bench, and Sturns, especially, will have to step up as a team player/scorer.

I agree. Losing Davis hurts really, really bad. However, this team is deep and losing Davis can't be an excuse for not having a good season still. We will finally get to see what Sturns can do with extended minutes every night. Watson will need to step up his offensive production, and that doesn't mean he just needs to jack a few more 3s every game. Also, might we see Mangrum step into a consistent supporting role?

Another issue that needs noting is how Sturns serves as a reserve PG sometimes. If he is getting more minutes at the 2, will Bell be able to handle the extended minutes? That is one thing we could count on the last two seasons with Hines, he would play almost the entire game.

Sounds like he was as pissed as the rest of us. Unfortunate result, but I like the passion to win!

He definitely won't redshirt though. If he comes back on schedule, the team will still have 10-15 games left. I don't know about you, but I would rather see him in the lineup if there is anything to play for.

Why have him for only 10 games + the 3 he played.

This injury is tough to come back from. REDSHIRT him.

Bring him back next season. There's enough talent to win on the team right now.
