Huge weekend for the Rangers. They sweep the Mariners in their last home series and the Astros get swept by a 100+ loss Royals team. Rangers lead the division by 2.5 games with 7 games to go. Magic number to clinch the division is 5.

Right now the Rangers would face the winner of a Twins/Astros wild card series. With the way we've played Toronto this year, I'd rather the Astros sneak ahead of them into the second wild card, so we'd play the winner of Twins/Blue Jays.

1-1 so far in Anaheim. Lost last night but so did the Astros.

Magic number down to 3 with 5 games to play.

i will say, in all seriousness, this was a wild-ass year of baseball and with about 10 games left in the season, i was sure the Astros were going to miss the playoffs. 

 

The Rangers did not only get the bad luck of not winning the division, but the Jays also lost (purposefully?) and not the Rangers have to face the Rays instead of the Twins.

The Rangers have taken three straight from the Rays and hold a 4-2 record over them this year.

Rangers took it to the Rays... and might have had more fans in the stands as well. 

I'm glad, because i think the Rays are dangerous!

Good luck against the Orioles, i'm hoping for a Texas showdown in the ALCS!

The Rangers/Orioles match up is the most intriguing one of the Divisional round (to me), though I suspect the only "bad" series will be the Dodgers/Diamondbacks.

 

The Rangers have the bats to beat anyone, but I really like the young Orioles and their 100+ wins aren't a fluke - they'll be good for the next several years if they can keep the core together.

Feels like this is heading toward a GoMeanGreen Texas Civil War. I know that there are Astros fans here....

Difference between now and when the Astros swept us late in the year is we're healthy now and look to be getting Scherzer and Gray back....

Scherzer, Eovaldi, Montgomery, Gray in a 7 game series....

Dunning, Heaney, Perez.....

Deep starting pitching....

Lineup is 100% healthy and they've added Evan Carter.

Should be an awesome series.
