Is Beford and his family on this board?  I get  thumbs down when I say we give coaches a lot of time, look at our basketball coach.  What is a thumbs down in that comment.  It is true statement.

Hell no. I teach my kids to never let dogs lick them for that very reason. I did let my dog lick on people that annoyed me...

I am Ward White, have been a North Texas fan since my freshman year,1961. To the best of my ability I have put my money where my mouth is , am 74, and have run out of time to relax.Because of my age, I have a sense of urgency that may differ from yours. Having said that, I believe our biggest problem historically has been low self esteem. We are like the great looking girl who feels unloved and puts out for every guy who makes her feel appreciated.Frankly, I am just sick and tired of a 2nd rate athletic program. I refuse to sugarcoat shit and give our football coaching staff a pass for a bad recruiting performance.Compared to our peers, we stunk it up, and if history has shown us anything the longer we accept poor performance from our athletic department the longer it becomes the accepted norm.And while I am on a roll, what has our new A.D. done except increase administrative overhead? As an actor in a movie once said.,"I am mad as hell and am not going to take it any more." That means Littrell does not age a recruiting "C" from me , nor "a pretty good", or " its just his first year". We must EXPECT MORE, or we will get more of the same. Just review our history if you believe otherwise.

What people want is more production on the recruiting side... What we mean by that is yes this staff can coach(we believe going from 1-11 to a 5-8 bowl bid), and while that is great if we were able to recruit half the class that UTSA did image the results. Yes UNT is a hard sale to players because of the history everyone knows about. Also, it does not help being the bottom teir in DFW, with the likes of Cowboys, Rangers, Mavs, Stars, TCU, SMU..UTSA has just the Spurs, and some minor league baseball. The education as well is leaned towards UNT, and while the stadium should be kids believe and think that AlamoDome is better because its a Dome.

People here don't want to see any of these coaches fired yet.. but they want us to be more productive, if that means WB and his staff dumping more money into recruiting or coaches salaries great, but people are worried that WB has been here over 6 months and people don't think changes have occurred(See Mens Basketball). I'm willing to give WB this year as a getting his foot wet, just like we did for SL.. But we need to expect better in year 2 and what is why some people aren't please with SL recruiting class(2016 was rated higher but 2017 class still isn't completely  filled). We need to hope that WB with his people in place, such as the new Financial officer within UNT Athletics has been able to increase the budget and salaires for coaches. In the report that was completed after WB got here about the state of the AD office, it talked about moving the debt from Apogee to UNT and off of the department, doing this would allow them to invest into facilities, recruiting and coaches(which is what people want to see). Sorry for the rant and how it got slightly off topic, but we need to look at the bigger picture
