CBS Ranks the Bowls After They've Been Played

Hey!  We were a 5 win team for heaven's sake!

Still, college football fans all over the Lone Star State saw a very entertaining football game & observed first hand how UNT fans still came out to support our 5 win team by the thousands on a work day 2 days after Christmas to boot!

Obviously, an easy prediction that we are going to flip some more solid recruits because of all the positives that this bowl game brought to our alma mater's football program.

Not to mention, we are still in the Bowl conversation. And even though it may be bad pub, it is pub non-the-less. Rice, UTEP, smut, Tx. St., not so much.

GO MEAN GREEN!

Spoke to a friend (a Texas State-SM grad) up in NE Arkansas just yesterday & he was (even a week after our bowl game) still talking about "that North Texas star running back projectile puking on national TV!"

I read the pre-bowl ranking (40) as an admission of bias.  He didn't think the game would be any good at all.  Pretty amazing that the combination of (a) it actually being an exciting game and (b) other bowls "underperforming" was enough go get HOD all the way to 16.

It was well worth what I paid to attend.  Winning would have been nice, but hey, I served in the Army, so there's that.

Put the name Bowl on a game & we show up--even if our team only won 5  games.

Put the name Bowl on a game after our 4'th winning year in row with a team ranked in the Top 25 & (per the HOD Bowl contract  playing a Big 10 opponent)  North Texas fans could fill up half or more the 94,000 seat Cotton Bowl stadium.

With our burgeoning constituency that includes a projected (by the state of Texas) enrollment of 45K, subsequent growing alumnus numbers & a Denton County that will be at 1,000,000 population in a few short years, why do some still want to wave the white flag of being in a G5 (might as well call it 1-AA) playoff?  It's not about the past at North Texas, but rather our future & that is why Wren Baker took the UNT AD job in the first place.
