We Are Now In Dodge Territory

In Dodge's final half season, he was 1-4 at this point. Remember, these results, along with 3 others, ended up costing him his job.

Sadly, those scores are more impressive then what we have done this season. Our offense has not scored as many points, and our defense is giving up more points.

This year is WAY worse in my opinion.  The Clemson game was close with a couple of minutes left before halftime.  We scored with a couple of minutes left, but drew an excessive celebration penalty that was a total joke.  Because of the penalty, Clemson was able to drive down and score to make it 21-7 at the half.  The aforementioned penalty is possibly the worst I've ever seen called.  If memory serves correctly, we were down to our 3rd string QB by midway through the Army game.  Again, this year is WAY worse.

It IS worse when you consider that our starting quarterback went down in that 1 point Rice loss(2nd game). Our backup quarterback went down in the Army loss(3rd game). Our 3rd string converted wr qb went down in game 6. On came 4th string/scout team/walk-on/wr/qb Chase Baine for the next 2 games and Dodge was fired thereafter.

 

Imagine how bad this season could be if we were trotting out converted wrs and scout team qbs.

This is worse, because we have a coach with more experience, a new stadium, ZERO excuses to be where we are, and the worst part is, there is no sign of hope.

If we lose to Portland State, which looks very likely, I'll be willing to declare this our worst season.. maybe ever. Even Dodge never posted an 0-12 season. We have not finished a season without a win since 1913, but we only played one game that year.
