The SEC might win every one of those games, but I think they'd all be good games. Thus my stance that the SEC isn't "way more stout" than the Big 12 (or the Pac 12). If I'm being honest, I think 5 evenly matched games like the ones you listed would probably result in a 2-3 record for one conference and a 3-2 record for the other. None of the games should be blowouts barring unlikely circumstances. Also, Georgia vs. W. Va. is hardly a gimme for the SEC. Kind of hard to compare "middle of the pack" since the SEC has so many more teams, but are you really confident that Vandy would easily handle Kansas or Iowa St.? I might give you Kansas because they're pretty weak, but I'll take Iowa St. over Vandy.2 points

Until Creighton arrived, Ypsilanti's only claim to fame is being the birthplace of Domino's Pizza. In recognition, Creighton has promised to deliver a winner in 30 minutes or less.2 points

I always thought it was weird we had so many Redskins fans yapping it up on this board. Now it's all starting to make sense - and explains the brief disappearance over the summer. I have hated benford since the D2 loss and have been disgusted with UNT hoops since the UTA loss. However I have decided to give Benford a fresh start. I like Wesley and Combs on this team. So starting Nov. 1 I have renewed hope. Who is with me?1 point

A special night indeed. Pretty cool Zach Orr gets to be there to witness on the opposite sideline1 point

I wish you would have titled your thread differently. That's an unnecessary shot at one of our players.1 point

I think Cousins and Shanbour were both preferred walk-ons though and from many reports, both looked pretty good in the spring. Playbook issues?1 point

Are any of those guys scholy QBs or are they all walk ons?1 point

I have one foot in. I'd like Benford to prove me wrong. Should things go south it'll be all about the fury again.1 point

Sadly all Mcnulty needs to do is run the dumbed down version of the offense (that strangely was never put in place for a redshirt freshman playing for the first time) for DW to never see the field again. It's exactly how Mac always wanted it to play out.1 point

I am always ready for UNT basketball. Trilli, Jones, Benford.... It's all good. I really enjoy basketball! Benford is showing he can recruit and he has improved from his first season. If he continues to improve (20 win season) I will definitely be on board for next season. If we only win 8-14 games this season then changes need to be made. However I do not want to lose players in a coach turnover. The 2014 and so far the 2015 recruits are looking real exciting!1 point

Dear God, Help us. MGN You think Canales just called him up out of boredom and told him not to waste his time allby himself? No, our offensive guru of a head coach had a hand in it I am sure. We are toast. Unless Connor Means comes in here with his 50% HS completion percentage and all of a sudden becomes a world beater we are done. 2015 is already looking ugly. Ship is sinking already, but with another performance like this next year the ship will hit the bottom and pulling the plug will be a must if sustainability means anything to this AD, Prez, BOR, etc.1 point

Sometime I think BreVito is high. "That could change. The situation with scholarships is always fluid. UNT could have a top-ranked quarterback knock on its door tomorrow that that staff would grab in a heartbeat." "four starting offensive linemen" I know they are seniors but have they lived up to the hype at all.....I dont really think so Why not get one more QB in? If you put the heat on the guy in front of you, he either excels or he doesn't and you replace him. If McNulty is our QB next year, I will just die1 point
-
Greer could see the writing on the wall and transfer which may open a spot.1 point
-
Why did I think McNulty was a senior? Wishful thinking I suppose.1 point
-
Wouldn't surprise me at all. Just because the position is a mess this season doesn't mean it will be going forward. I'd ten times rather focus recruiting and scholarship offers on the defensive side of the ball. Unless we're planning on going early-90s-Oilers on C-USA and putting it all on the offense, we've got to stop conference opponents and create conference turnovers.1 point

According to what I found online Brice is almost 3 inches taller then Robinson and 40 plus pounds bigger.... Robinson was 217 at UNT and Combs is 205. Brice is over 260.... Brice is almost 3 inches taller where Combs is only two inches shorter than Robinson. So yes size wise Robinson is more like Combs than Brice. That is a fact. Sorry to actually look up their height and weight... On the court they all have a different style.0 points

Sometimes I think you smoke crack. He does not have a lot more mass on him, unless Tony Benford was walking around with another 6'10" recruit 8 days ago. And you compare combs to Robinson? I miss the good old days when the most frequent poster in the basketball forum actually knew a whole lot about basketball.0 points

Brice's build rivals Robinson's. Just about the same. In a whole lotta ways.0 points

It's about market size, not product on field or court. However, I would let FIU join just to see their dance team at basketball tournament.I also would like to see A-State and ULL if conference expands to 16, but they don't bring enough t.v. sets to the table.By the way, what happened to the successful FIU football coach fired a few years ago?-1 points

Yes, Banowski was trying to put the TV package together and the Miami and West Palm Beach markets were a lot more attractive than Lafayette and a small share of the Austin market. But...just last year we took a Western Kentucky team from a smaller market than Lafayette. In addition, they draw about 8-10,000 less game attendance than Louisiana. Even Arkansas State has an equal TV market compared to Bowling Green and draw at least 5K more per game than WKU. So, if we absolutely had to have the Florida teams for the TV package we should've taken ULL as our 14th team. Then, if we go to 16 teams, take two from Texas State, Arkansas State or Western Kentucky.-1 points

I get it there could be underlying reasons. Losing out on players to the likes of Texas State is becoming a trend, not an exception. We have to land the players of choice at the G5 level if we plan on EVER being relevant. I'm tired of watching us get beat out by crappy academic, isolated holes in the wall. Since I've been following we have lost 4-5 players to WYOMING. It's frustrating and IMO inexcusable. Do what it takes to get your guys here. If you can't recruit, you can't win.-1 points

I just wished Forrest had a better attitude while here. He never fit in with the other players. And, that year I have never seen the team closer.-1 points

Coker might not be looking for a new job, but if one comes knocking he'll take it. His "legacy" is getting ready to start taking heavy blows if he hangs around down there. They are going to be awful the next 2 years.-1 points

I don't want to see shotgun anything ever again while Mac is our HC, regardless of who the QB is.-1 points

It's too bad the head coach feels about 180 degrees differently about DW as the starting QB here. He will never start another game here, barring an injury to McNulty. I wish it was different, but he is done here, I'm afraid.-1 points

With the lack of recruiting the QB position this class I better see Means get drafted right after his RS So year.-1 points

Brice is taller and has a lot more mass on him. Robinson reminds me more of jermey combs.-1 points

No. Unlike Greer, DW has at least shown us what he could become. Greer showed us he is a legit FCS QB playing at the FBS level.-2 points

That's mind boggling? Wait if the P5 ever decides to play only P5. It's going to be really, really bad.-2 points

I'm sorry, but no. The top 5 teams from the SEC will beat the top 5 from the Big12. Miss St v KState--Miss St AU v TCU-- AU Alabama v OU--Bama Ole Miss v Baylor--Ole Miss UGA (w/ Gurley) v whoever else--Georgia. Big12 might win one of those, maybe. The middle of the pack to bottom of the SEC would slaughter the middle of the pack to bottom Big12. The Big12 really has to add a couple more universities to their conference. 10 just isn't going to get it done long term.-2 points
