Stadium Opening against Houston. Even though we lost, still a great day to always remember. God, everyone remember Chancellor on the very first opening kickoff? Game couldn't have started any better for a brand new stadium. He didn't score, but reversed his course twice I think almost to both sidelines before running about 50-60 yards. Holy crap it was fun to watch!7 points

Now this is funny North Texas will start selling beer at home games. No word if they'll have Grey Goose available for @NTCoachMac — Brett McMurphy (@McMurphyESPN) July 17, 20145 points

Sorry to hear about your wife MGD. It was an absolutely pleasure hanging with ya at the HOD Bowl at the Sig Ep area before the game. Looking forward to seeing you at the games this fall. GMG.3 points

All that hate. Let them have their fun. Amazing how that 100 people on the Hill piss people off more than the thousand in their dorm or the hundred thousand that live in Denton.2 points

I like how it hasn't even been a day and we are already complaining about the price and selection.2 points

Leaked intelligence reports say that US assets in the area: 1) noticed a ground based radar system paint the sky, and then begin to track the airliner. 2) noticed a missile launch. 3) noticed a huge heat blast incident. Conclusion: Shot down. They should be able to track the path of the missile to a launch site. In fact I am 100% certain they already know.2 points

This is the exact same semantic rigmarole that self righteous, turtleneck wearing, latte sipping liberals pulled on your man George W. Bush. Enjoy the company.2 points

Russian language news/social media had reported earlier today that the separatists had shot down a Ukrainian military plane. Those reports have already begun to disappear. The official Russian line has now changed to "The Ukrainians shot down the airliner because they thought it was Putin's airplane." Already Russian language social media is being flooded of reports that Russian speaking eye witnesses on the ground saw a Ukrainian jet following the airliner seconds before it was shot down. This is laughable of course since at 11 KM a jetliner is a speck and fighter jet sized object would only be seen by its contrail.2 points

I went ahead and took a screen shot of the ITAR-TASS article as I have no doubt it will disappear soon:2 points

It just looks huge in that one picture because the guy is not in his uni/pads, but just wearing under armor. I'm with Trav on this, I like these as an alt and love when we have alt unis.2 points

Hat tip to UNT Recruiting News, re-tweeting Lacy Gregory's verbal commitment announcement today: Retweeted by UNTRecruitingNewz Lacy Gregory @LacyGregory_ · 5h Proud to say Lindsay and I verbally committed to play softball for The University of North Texas today! Go Mean Green I can't recall commitment from to-be Juniors before, but I may have missed a few. Both Lindsay (SS) and Lacy (2B/DH) were all district as sophomores, and were starters as Freshman. Lost in the State Regional Finals in 2014. GMG!2 points

I believe so. I was on UNT ticket site earlier today and already there is a message stating "not many left!". I think the environment will be electric. I expect more people than UH game and more importantly, more GREEN2 points

Mean Green Family is far more than a cliché, you're absolutely right. It is truly something special and has helped me through the worst time in my life. Right before the Rice game, my wife told me she had endometriosis. I suited up for the first time, and let it all out on Halloween night. It was therapeutic for me, and the performance on the field was inspiring. She had surgery right after the HOD Bowl during which they found it was stage 4 and had to remove her Fallopian tubes. We will never have children of our own. And though some may think I'm a weird dude dressed up in a suit, it means everything to me. These players, these coaches, this message board, the UNT Twitterverse, all of the Mean Green Family will forever mean more to me than I can ever thank them for. I am in the best shape of my life, I received a promotion/raise this year at work, my marriage is stronger than ever and I choose to look at the positive rather than the negative in life because of the words of our head football coach. So when some of you say it's just "coach-speak" you're absolutely wrong. I thought this was just a neat idea for a Halloween costume, but it took on a whole lot more meaning in my life. My support system through this challenging time was the Mean Green Family and I look forward to spending some quality time with all of you this fall!2 points

pre-emptive strike against those a-holes who will invariably blame him...like they do everything from Jews and Muslims not getting along to refugee 5 year olds to, let's say, their own E.D.?1 point

The teams that win these types of David vs Goliath matchups (and that's what this is---the gap is beyond huge at this point in time) tend to be returning experience at QB. Appalachian St, North Dakota St, LaMo, Ark St, etc all returned experienced and *mostly* all-conference level talent at QB. Had we had last year's team going into this game, I'd be more confident. If we are able to keep this game close, it means that our front 7 is going to be fine, but most importantly that we'll have a pretty good answer at QB.1 point

Thanks Stan, something we are definitely considering but not in the immediate future. For now, I have adopted every young man that straps on a UNT helmet and will do all I can to show them they are loved and appreciated by the fans. It's been pretty special being able to share messages with some players and coaches who tell me they appreciate me...means the world.1 point

That's an inspiring story MGD, sorry to hear about your wife's medical issues. I don't want to get too far into your personal story, but just curious if you're considering adoption?1 point

Not being named because of a radius clause means these are local guys that are not supposed to be playing in the area because of a contract with another nearby venue. Am I wrong? Am I wrong?1 point
