I am tending bar this Saturday and I made sure we had the channel today. Everyone come and watch the game. Support a local business that supports UNT athletics. I hope to see you there.7 points

there is one bar that is predominantly "frat" that is tavern. Public house is about half and half. treehouse sees its share of diff people and Lou's is just one great diverse place. Fraternity members like myself who don't see anything wrong with people who aren't in frats loves to go to places like Lou's and hang out with a bunch of really cool people.7 points

If I were the coach, I'm suggesting to our players that we try to win each of the last six games. I think that would be my strategy going into this final stretch of the season.3 points

I sat in my own section. I was literally (not figuratively... literally) the only person in my section. There was a guy sitting a section over with his girlfriend and whenever the team did anything good we would run across the metal bleachers just to high five each other. ETA: Ja'Quay Wilburn's younger brother (Jorrian Wilson) set all sorts of records at Permian but we didn't recruit him last year for some reason. Don't feel too bad for him, he was academically accepted at Harvard and he plans to play football there.3 points

On this play Ja'Quay Wilburn is about to get the ball. No, I don't remember the exact play...but trust me he is.3 points

Just one more thing to blame Benford for, the unashamed use of basketball memes on the football board.3 points

They could just realize that it is ok to stop drinking for 3 hours, and come into the game. If it's that important to them, bring a flask into the game.3 points

It would take a big collapse not to win 3 more with this schedule. Massey favors NT in every game, and if you extrapolate the odds; NT has about a 40% chance to go undefeated. Doesn't mean much, but 6 wins seems at this point would be very discouraging. This is a senior team, not a rebuilding team, the time is now.3 points

I don't know many thin people associated with this board. As I get older and older and more and more bitter, whenever someone asks me what my "type" of woman is, I say, "I'm into the nice to me type of woman."2 points

And Gray Eagle posted: Don't get me wrong. I am as appalled by our poor attendance as anyone and firmly believe that there should be a special promotion for every game until we reach 90% stadium capacity consistently. A Response: Jack, I look forward to the day we don't have attendance threads (unless we're bragging about how we now have to expand Apogee because we've had 20 sellouts in a row) but until then and..............because of our DFW location, we will have to have (as you call it) special promotions each Game Day at North Texas even when we're winning because...........................................of our location in the DFW Metroplex. Fry's AD successor at UNT Andy Everest once told several of us.........'If North Texas were only located 30 more miles north (Gainsville era) we would not have to lose so many students who merely go home or choose among about 1,000 other weekend event options in DFW." _________ 2 Eras of Mean Green Football: 1973 City of Denton...........39,000 Denton County..........99,000 UNT..........................17,000 2013 City of Denton...........120,000 Denton County..........770,000 UNT..............................37,000 _________ Fooled around with a lesser version of Photo Shop and came up with a True Texican MG poster idea on my Facebook page so.....................This.... or If any comments please keep them nice & civil. I have a lot of family/relatives who read my page. Thanks in advance. https://www.facebook.com/SoundworkS.DeeJay?ref=tn_tnmn2 points

They told me 12 left, 11 after I pirchased mine, soon to be 8 after 3 I know make their immediate purchase. You got what you asked for, coach, both at home and on the road. Your turn.2 points

I agree. Compared to other schools in our position, our attendance really isn't god awful. We need to be better. Far better. But still. Everyone also loves to say that attendance was weak during the Fry years but we were much smaller back then.2 points

I know there are Fuzzy's out here in Weatherford and one in Denton. If you have a Fuzzy's in your area they have just about any cable sports station you want. They did out here for the North Texas/Tulane game and put our game on 3 screens. GMG!2 points

My recollection regarding attendance is a little different than most. Since our return to Division 1A we've only had one season where we averaged less than 14K which, while not great, wasn't terrible in relation to other Big West and Sun Belt schools. The one really bad year (98 or 99) we only averaged a little over 10 thousand (after averaging 19,000+ the previous year). A small crowd was usually eight thousand at the beginning. I say at the beginning because people were disgruntled with 'Dickey Ball' and would leave at halftime in protest so that by the fourth quarter there were often a thousand or less who could endure that kind of torture. Remember, Darrell Dickey didn't have a winning season until 2002 and that only lasted three years. That was followed by seven losing years yet we averaged at least 15 thousand every year. North Texas is one of a handful of "marginal attendance" FBS schools that has not failed to average 15K since the 17,000 figure was lowered to that amount. Don't get me wrong. I am as appalled by our poor attendance as anyone and firmly believe that there should be a special promotion for every game until we reach 90% stadium capacity consistently. Pre-Fouts our average attendance was greater than the enrollment at North Texas. I don't expect that again but the point is that North Texas has supported its athletic teams in the past and can again.2 points

It is nice to be near the scholarship maximum, but I don't think it is a good sign that so few of the underclassmen are substantially contributing. For example, this was supposed to be the year; that the offensive line was much deeper; yet he is basically playing 6 men just like last year. As far as redshirts, freshmen that I believe have already lost those are Williams, Scott, Schelleci, Melugin, Kidsey, Flusche, Ellis and Davis or about half. Yes, there can be hardship waivers still, but let's not get into that again.2 points

If he's fired before even getting through the tunnel in Ruston, why would he walk back to Denton? There'd be nothing left for him in Denton. He'd start walking back to Florida, because, and I don't know if you were aware of this, he won a national championship there.2 points

Regardless of whatever the team comes out with on 10/31, someone will complain about it. It's what this fan base does and is really good at it.2 points

Lou's became frat?? It was always the spot the hipsters were before John Williams and Midlake opened their establishments (where I have migrated to as well), but always had a few frat folks out just to make an appearance. That, and Nick Williams + all of the Green Brigade leadership took up Lou's as their watering hole. Though I have seen Nick at ESSC the last few weeks. Anyway, frat bars were always the ones South of Jimmy Johns and that newer Treehouse place. Is that still the case? Man, now I need to make a Fry visit.2 points

UNT Enrollment: Approaching 40,000 * D-FW North Texas Alums: Over 200,000 right there. if the Mean Green win the next two you will see fans comig out of the wood pile. this is the great state of Texas we love winning football. i transferred here in 2007 from ACU after my football career ended. i have seen a small d-II school in west texas sell out game when we where winning imagine the crowds North Texas can have with that student body and alums. plus in 2007 all i heard from older stundets is how much fun it was to go the games during the early 2000s. if North Texas brings back that feeling all will start coming out. thank you for the welcome.2 points

It's fine to participate in the activity. It's not fine to be so self-absorbed that you NEED to post those pictures on line for everyone to see. It shows a huge character flaw and one that smart employers will not want in their organization. Body build your but off, just don't post it on your Facebook page.1 point

You mean Judas Crane's little hobby named the Houston ALstros? More viewers will see the Green against UGa this Saturday on the tube, than Houstonians (and SE Texas Residents) have ALL SEASON LONG thanks to that Carpetbagger's greed!1 point
