Friday afternoon UNT Coaching Carousel Update

The timing is reaching a critical point in the process for Jones' future and that of UNT. Shawn Forrest, who helped UNT put together a terrific roster the past few years, has interviewed at Kansas State.

I have no doubt that Forrest would like to follow one of his mentors if that means going to LSU. If I'm LSU, I want Jones and Forrest as a package deal.

Forrest is a terrific recruiter. That is why Kansas State wants him.

Jones could then fill out his staff with an Xs and Os veteran like Charlie Leonard and maybe Bill Foy as well.

If Jones were to decide to listen to SMU (and I am not saying he will) the same principle applies. Forrest becomes even more valuable at SMU in the backyard of all those Dallas recruits he has been luring to Denton.
