Interesting, but the MWC really can't do much until the PAC10 and Big12 are settled in from any changes to their membership loss or gain. I've seen BYU, Utah, Fresno, SDSU, and Colorado mentioned in PAC10 expansion articles. I've also heard TCU mentioned for Big12 movement although I can't see that ever happening.

It may all hinge on what the Big10(11) and/or Notre Dame does. Then the trickle down would be to the Big East and CUSA. For North Texas, the best we could hope for is major changes in many conferences leaving gaps for our geographical location. With our new stadium slated to be open in 2011 this could be our star on our application resume!

There is a remote chance the MWC expansion could land us there. TCU doesn't have a travel partner, and at least one trip per year for each team to Texas could be attractive in terms of recruiting. I don't rate our chances high, but not out of the realm of possibility.

Wouldn't they rather have U of H? They've already got the DFW market, seems like Houston would be a more attractive option.

What keeps MWC from going to 12 teams and have a championship game? They could expand into Texas with UNT or UoH, take Boise, and their west division could play in prety much the same time zones. But then again, they would risk their undefeated getting beat in the championship game. But maybe doing this could help their quest to AQ status.
