A really dumb comment to make on the Jay Leno Show.

"The athletic-minded president made an offhand remark Thursday on "The Tonight Show" comparing his weak bowling to "the Special Olympics or something." He quickly apologized and told the Special Olympics chairman he wants to have some of its athletes visit the White House to bowl or play basketball."

And if a Republican had make the same comment? I dare say he would be fighting for his job.

But hey! This is Obama. Just throw a couple of billion dollars in stimulus money to the Special Olympics and the comment will simply go away.

"And if a Republican had make the same comment? I dare say he would be fighting for his job."

You really think that? You think the wheels of the impeachment process would've been set in motion for Bush had he made this same comment? You honestly believe that the most extreme punitive measure available...used officially twice in 220 years of presidential history would've been taken for an inane (and incredibly benign) comment if there were a little "R" instead of a "D" next to Obama's name?

Because thats what it would take for said republican to be "fighting for his job."

The "if a Republican had..." arguement gives me such tired head.

Also, apologies to me bretheren for crossing the picket...but sometimes asininity calls.

Should've brought the teleprompters to keep in on cue.

And just like that, someone assumes I meant "Republican President", when in fact, it was stated "a Republican".

I don't know if he'd be fighting for his job, but I definitely see a double standard. The news does a terrible job of reporting and condemning these types of actions by Dems. I will say I feel like Obama is doing everything he can to get people off the topic of his blunder of a stimulus package, that is paying out these AIG bonuses, which are exempt from this new 90% tax.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE DEMS PASS LEGISLATION WITHOUT READING IT OR CONSIDERING IDEAS FROM REPUBLICANS AND INDEPENDENTS!!!

What a wonderful family that embodies the American spirit. God Bless Governor Palin.

Rick

Damn straight! Nothing screams stars and stripes and apple pie like preaching abstinence only education while your daughter gets pregnant out of wedlock, having some poor boy promise to marry your daughter because it's politically expedient (only to allow him to back off of this "promise" when you lose the election) and taking potshots at the man you lost to because he made a verbal gaffe (man, oh man, if only Bush had a few of these in his tenure  ). If you'll excuse me I have some karaoke to do with my good friend Lee Greenwood:

On a side note, Rick, I think you have a wonderful family and hope the studying is coming along well.

Ok, I think it is time we all start making fun of Pres. Obama's intellect. You know, call him names like "stupid yankee" or "insensitive dolt". Maybe we can even get Will Farrell to do a parody of Pres. Obama, maybe a three hour play where Will Farrell portrays Pres. Obama and just constantly insults the handicapped, aged, and infirmed. Maybe he can do a skit of Pres. Obama wrongly picking NCAA basketball games while the economy tanks. Maybe Farrell can also do an over-the-top skit showing Pres. Obama grovelling at the feet of the Iranian Supreme Leader. Maybe we can then get a major network to film the play and air it as a prime time special!

What goods times we would all have!

But, for this to happen, there would have to be fairness and equality in the media (yes, hollywood is a part of the media). Oh well.

I had a flat on the way to work Friday. Somehow, I just know it was Pres. George W. Bush's fault.

Some folks need to visit reality. The GOP lost and for good reason.

1. The national debt doubled during the last eight years which increased prices we pay for imported goods (includes oil and petroleum products.. includes plastic, chemical products, etc. ) ... The debt increased about 2% per years under Clinton..which was less than the interest rate on the debt.

2. The budget was balanced in 2000 and there was even a surplus and had been for the final six years under Clinton.. Every Bush budget had a large deficit.

3. Bush got us into a war based on the idea that Iraq had WMD and we were at risk despite the fact no terrorist act against us or Europe involved the Iraq government or even Iraq citizens. Sixteen of the nineteen involved in 9-11 were Saudi citizens.... as is Ben Laden... who is still on the loose. None had any Iraq connection.

4. The American economy is a total wreck and all these problems existed prior to the election last November. Most of these problems are due to the party in power removing financial controls on Wall Street and Banking. --They constantly yelled less government interference and they we got it --- and now we have bad economic times due to a meltdown of banking and Wall street companies. (thanks a lot to legislation written by Phil Gramm who also was somewhat involved in the Enron mess as well... that is why he he did not run for re-election for Senator from Texas In 2002).

Obama is not at all responsible for our present mess... grow up and be honest about it. Clinton is not my favorite person and rather disgusting but our economic situation was in good shape when he left office... not true of Bush.

Question; If you needed a lifesaving surgery, would you want great surgeon that was known to run around on his wife or a very religious surgeon that incompetant and many of his patients die? The same applies who the person in the White House.

---Plus... who caused this mess that created the need for all these idiot bail-outs.

I remember that question coming up on a message board over here on the Collin/Denton county line. It wasn't related to the White House, but rather to weather you want your professionals going to church or not. I think the majority response may surprise you.

1. GWB did make dumb comments and it was rightly pointed out by the left. Now it's our turn so deal with it.

2. I'd say Barney Fife, er, Franks, and his sidekick had more to do with it than anything.

You're welcome on the ticket.

As to the rest, until you can learn not to accentuate the "hussain" portion of his name (and realize the shock value associated with it was lost on the majority of the American voting public) I'm not sure what you can expect in the way of rational response.

1. Saddam's name was "Hussein' not "Hussain".

2. Obama (Osama) carries a hell of a lot more shock value than Hussein does, should we eliminate that word and just refer to him as Barrack?

why are you so sensitive about barrack's middle name.....hussain?? there is no shock value to his middle name unless you "feeeeel" there is something negative about it. i am more concerned about his socialist leanings and why he has made so many "gaffs" in such a short time. b hussain obama....live with it....we all have to if we want to or not. if you voted for him (and i get the impression that you did) and support him then you support his socialistic philosophies.....which if you support socialists ideals then doesn't that make you one??
