Softball Questions

The softball team is off to a 3-10 start and doesn't appear to be making a lot of progress. NT has improved as a hitting team but the pitching seems to be lacking. Unfortunately softball is primarily pitching. On this subject, I thought one of NT best recruits was the pitcher out of East Texas that apparently is no longer on the team along with the pitcher from California. Anyone know why those players are no longer on the team?

This team has suffered from a poor initial coaching hire and the lack of a home field, but at what point should a winning record be expected?

I would assume RV is somewhat disappointed in the lack of progress of the softball team as he expected the team to be immediately successful from the get go.

If there's one thing that pisses off UNT athletics, it's a mediocre or worse product....

First, I think cheering your fellow players on is great. But seriously, wouldn't the name chants being screamed at you from the dugout while you're up to bat distract you more than help you? I mean, there's a difference between shouting words of encouragement between pitches and the constant changing chant being yelled at you from 15 yards away.

I think we have a great facility for softball (attended my first game today).

And, I was impressed...I bet there were over 200 people at the game.

We won 6-5.....coming back from down 0-5 (scoring 6 in the last two innings; 4 of those in the 7th).

I went to a game there Saturday. Very nice field and good crowd, also about 200. I wish TXDot would remove the barriers, old tires, etc. from the background lot; looks trashy. I think baseball would draw well too if NT had that....hint, hint!

I played Class A competitive softball for 11 years, so from experience, I can say that it rarely gets to you. You learn to just tune it out when you bat. Actually, what I used to do is chat with the catcher and distract her while she's trying to call pitches.
