  1. According to Wikipedia it was his 6th year, before he had a winning season at ISU....not four: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_McCarney
  2. There will be four less OOC games next year. The SBC will go from 16 conference games this year to 20 conference games next year. After Denver leaves....every team will play every other team twice. A home and home with everyone in the league.
  3. Since you're calling someone out. Are you in the Mean Green Club? How about football season tickets? Club seats? Just curious since you're a super fan that we should all emulate.
  4. I think that the years are different. When we played them....it was March 2007....so that would have been the 2006-2007 season. This penalty would be for the games of the 2007-2008 season.
  5. At least that's what DMNews media reporter Barry Horn is reporting: http://sportsmediablog.dallasnews.com/arch...t-mean-joe.html If true, this is blasphemy.

  7. I went to the show. I don't remember a lot of specifics of what Coach said....but I do know this: I came away feeling even more assured that he will get the job done. I love Coach TD's demeanor. He exudes so much confidence. He did say that he was pleased with how the kids never quit. He said that there was no finger pointing on the sideline....and that even though, he was not pleased with a 79-10 loss, that there were plenty of positives to build on. He did say that players are evaluated week to week...and that there can be the corresponding line-up changes. I didn't realize it, until Coach mentioned it.......but A.J. Penson got some playing time the other night. Also, Coach pointed out that of 88 offensive snaps that we had.......center Kelvin Drake, didn't have a bad snap all night. Anyway, I know I'm not getting into many specifics....but just trust me, Todd Dodge is greatness. Also, kudos to the Athletic Department......they were all well behaved. Thank you...
  8. Just wondering........how many students we have at NT this fall. Are the final enrollment numbers out????
  9. Emmitt..... We signed Kedrick Hogans about a month a go. He was a late signee. The young man was all-state in Louisiana (as was Josh White). When we lost Ryan McCoy, we were left with only ten scholarship players, as you know. Anyway, we're now up to 12 with the signing of Kedrick and Dez. Kedrick averaged 13+ ppg and 9 rpg last season, as I recall. He is considered a great shot blocker. I think McNeese State was the other school recruiting him. I have no idea what to expect from him. Sometimes those guys who I think are gonna just be roster fillers....end up being pretty good. (guys like Lionel Brown and Jeffrey Simpson, come to mind). Anyway, I'm glad we signed Mr. Hogans....and I hope he has a great career at NT.
  10. Before the game, the color commentator on ESPN.....said that TTech would be playing in a "hostile environment." Gerald Ford Stadium? Where half the crowd (at least) are Tech fans and the other half are preppy farts from SMU? Yeah, that's practically a Roman Colesium that they're playing in.....
  11. You have no choice. We're already 0-3 to FAU. This game will be our 4th one with them (2 in conference; the 2004 game was non-conference).
  12. Here's the boxscore from that game. But, it wasn't Fran's first game....it was his 10th game that season. OU totally dominated the Ags.....33 first downs to 3. 600 yards of offense to 54. To show you how quickly things can turn around: The next two years, OU won....but by scores of 7 points and 6 points. Here's the boxscore: http://collegefootball.rivals.com/boxscore.asp?Game=13434
  13. Did anyone see when the OU cheerleader did that jump over the OU cheerleaders and Jim Knox? Man, that was impressive.
  14. I'm sort of surprised....usually on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, there are a couple of college games on TV. I can't find any listed for today though.
  15. In case you missed it......yesterday, we picked up another commitment. Thanks to OT for the info....it's on the recruiting board. Also, in SBC conference play, MTSU lost to FAU. Since MTSU is one of the favorites this year.....that's a big loss. Also, the win by FAU.....makes our HOME OPENER (against FAU), an even bigger game. Reminder: Todd's radio show is tomorrow night at Hooter's. It'd be nice to have a great crowd there, letting Coach know that we're still 100% behind him. The show starts at 6:30.
  16. Margin of loss doesn't matter to me, in a game like that. Let me add that....I would much rather have lost by 69 with TD as our coach, than to have lost by 35 with Dickey as our coach. The future is bright. We have the right guy.........it may take time, but TD will get the job done.
  17. This is pretty funny....you may have heard about this: A kid at an Ohio school....anyway, he tricked his school's rival's fans, into holding up placards at a football game. If you haven't seen this...it's pretty funny. http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=5043
  18. I agree wholeheartedly. Plus, I remember Jimmy Johnson going 1-15....his first season with the Cowboys. Also, that year that NT beat Tennessee (arguably our biggest win ever)....earlier that season we were beaten by an average Oklahoma State team....61-7. I'll be at Todd Dodge's radio show Monday night....letting the man know that I STILL BELIEVE IN HIM AND THE MEAN GREEN!
  19. Appalachian State, Troy and Arkansas State....have all their head coaches for anywhere from 5-18 years. They're not new coaches. This is Dodge's first game. And, this is no worse than the 65-0 loss by Dickey at UT. The difference? Dickey burned clock...TD doesn't. BTW....that same year that we lost 65-0 to UT.....we won the Belt and went to the NO Bowl.
  20. I think one obvious thing is that just like some of us were saying: The last few Dickey recruiting classes were pure-d crap. So, yeah it catches up with you, when you recruit too many guys that are 1-AA talent. Dodge will get us there.....I'm gonna give him time.
  21. I haven't seen it, but my friend Green Grenade, says the ESPN The Magazine story on UNT football is phenomenal. He said that it's a 6-page story.......and has lots of great stuff on our team. I plan on getting mine tomorrow.
  22. http://stations.espn.go.com/stations/espn1...?id=gacpodcasts
  23. Randy said that NT was one of the schools that he flunked out of. Not sure what that means. But, he did say that he has had a fondness for NT....since covering the football team in the 60's (during the Joe Greene days). Also, co-host Brian Estrich brought up, that Galloway had said the other day, that if NT can just make the game entertaining on Saturday.....on the following Monday, he's driving to Denton and kissing TD on the cheek. (He made sure that Todd knew he was referring to the cheek on the face).
  24. I thought the interview was great. I'm paraphrasing here, but I loved when TD talked about how he wants to make it so, that when a UNT alum/fan is at the mall....and when that alum/fan walks by a cap store.....he goes in and buys a cap.....and wears it with the same pride that other school's fans do. Or something like that....I'm probably not doing it justice....
