I guess our victory of them did something - it kept them out of a bowl game!

And Rice gets to go to a bowl for the first time since 1961. I think we all know how great it feels to finally got that bear off of your back!

I wonder if at 6-6 will Bennet keep his job?

I'm not sure with Orsini... he seems pretty quick to pull the trigger.

I think that Rice going 1-10 to 7-5 in one year with the same players, and Tulsa going from 1-11 to 8-5, and following that with 3/4 bowls makes Bennett look bad. Both of those programs were in as bad of shape as SMU, and it didn't take those coaches nearly as long to turn around.

Also, the talent isn't as bad as when Bennett came. So replacing Bennett with a good coach doesn't seem as bad. The cupboard isn't nearly as bare as when Cavan was replaced.
