What's the big deal? I see this as a much different statement than the ones that alienate the fans. This is, IMO, the RIGHT way to say the types of things that he has a reputation for saying the WRONG way.

He's pointing to a tough schedule and difficult circumstance, and how athletes need to be able to overcome that. If you're someone with a competitive nature, if you're a fighter, if you're a scrapper, that's going to entice you. Nothing makes you want it more than someone suggesting it's gonna be difficult for you. You wanna compete, you wanna excel in a tough environment, then this is the place for you. If you want something handed to you on a silver platter, go sit on the bench at your favorite BCS school.
