No, but if I had to make a decision I would look at the really successful coaches in Division 1-AA and 2.  If they consistently win 25 or more games with 5 or less losses then I believe that they (1) they know how to coach and (2) they know how to recruit.   Anyone who coaches in Division 1 who is successful isn't going to leave has a job and would require big bucks to obtain.  The others that have coached there with only moderate success aren't likely to do better here.

It would be a plus if they are already familiar Texas talent, which would be where most of our recruits are from.  I believe that the coach at Angelo State   is pretty successful and I would include her in my research

Mark Kellogg - SFA

Six consecutive postseason appearances - 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-2023

Seven consecutive 23-win seasons - 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23

Some might not like him because he has zero Texas ties, but for my money Aaron Johnson is the best option. He's been the Head Coach at South Dakota State for over 20 years and if he wants to move up UNT would be a perfect opportunity. 10 NCAA Tournament berths. This season his Jackrabbits beat Mississippi State, Rutgers, #4 Louisville, #24 Kansas State, and #8 Southern Cal in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament. We should be able to pay enough to lure him away from South Dakota State.
