Where do we go from here?

It's easy as a fan(atic) to say the buyout doesn't matter and Seth has to go. But the reality it does and some of the deep-pocket boosters could sway it one way or the other. The simple math say's we have 2 options. Seth stays or he goes. The hard part is the decision making behind the call. Is 2023 a definite go date for the AAC? And yes, I do think that the representatives for UNT have been receiving inquires and have reached out to the agents for selected targets.

  • If somehow we win 6 he most likely stays unless you get embarrassed in a bowl game, or you have the person you targeted as the top candidate lined up and you believe you cannot pass on.
  • At 5 wins (and let's say you are not blown out in a loss to UTSA) it becomes a a closer call. I think the issue that might come in play is if the person Wren and Neil want is available and wants to come here (see above). If not, do you justify another year with the savings of the buyout?
  • 4 or less wins -Do not see how Seth could stay.

My opinion is regardless of how the season finishes it's time to make a change. We need momentum heading in to 2023 and the start of AAC play. We also need to give the new coach time to start putting together his team for 2023. As for me, would like to see us go after Carthel from SFA or Keeler from SHSU ( wouldn't be surprised to see one of them end up at Texas State).

If a few big money boosters influence the AD to keep Littrell next year because they’re buddies….That’s fine. I get the math.

I just don’t want to hear a peep about poor attendance and season ticket sales.

pick one.

With the move to the AAC and the possibility of a new coach we have another one of those fork in the road moments similar to when Dodge was hired. Let just hope this turns out better.
