Hopefully, his stock will rise this year and keep his commitment to UNT....

Course we could have 5, 10, or more 3 and 4 star recruits and some would still have a problem with UNT recruiting. Until the big three programs get turned around and at least become solid 500 percent-ers recruiting is going to remain flat.

A couple of issues with your statement.  Number 1, recruiting to the level you have cited is so far from what is going on now; that most would be ecstatic.  Two, what magic is going to happen that propels a program forward while recruiting is close to if not the bottom of all CUSA.

About the time McCarney was hired, new coaches at two other downtrodden teams: ASU and ULL both hired coaches that immediately turned their recruiting and programs around.  The same relative to recruiting later happened at Texas State and UTSA.    So it obviously is not impossible.

By the way both basketball teams are recruiting at a much higher level than football with even less recent on the court success.

The probability of Littrell finding enough talented lighted recruited players to build this program is not good.   Developing players and good coaching will only take a program so far.
