If he enrolls in at least 12 hours in the Fall, the 5 year clock starts ticking, regardless of whether or not he is on scholarship.  The difference with a grayshirt is that they don't enroll full time (12+) until January (i.e. after the season is over), which is how they get the extra season of eligibility.

Enroll him for 11 hours FTW!

Most of the East Texas recruits are from small schools like this as well. Not that big of a deal. Just hope he can pick up the speed of the FBS game.

Elkhart HS - Jeffrey Wilson's school is about 100 students smaller.

Just about all the other East Texas HS are twice the size enrollment or larger - the great exception is Clarksville.

Chapel Hill - 860,

Pine Tree - 1324,

Carthage 735,

John Tyler - 2047,

Whitehouse - 1325,

Sulpher Springs - 1134,

Marshall - 1547,

Van - 665

Clarksville, where Jarrian Roberts is from is even smaller than Locust Grove - total enrollment of Clarksville is 198.

Schools have grown since I left East Texas.

WIlson had five FBS offers.

This.

People keep wanting to make it about anything but offers. It isn't.

Not height.

Not school size.

The people who are paid to evaluate talent didn't think this kid was a FBS player. Except North Texas.

Everyone needs to be hoping Littrell is right and the entire FBS college football playing world is wrong...

For the moment, it sounds like we have a 2 time Gatorade POY that owns most of the OK HS passing records coming to play for us and it may or may not cost us a scholarship.  Hard to see the negative.

If he had an extra star by his name, people would be doing cartwheels.  I am glad to have him and hope somebody doesn't come in and steal him away.

JT, Pine Tree, and Marshall have all gotten smaller since I left Tyler.  Those three used to be among the largest in East Texas.  The rest have grown a bit.  I can remember Van being a small 3A with a only a Dairy Queen and it was bigger than Whitehouse.

Considering no one has come and  its the last week of recruiting season, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
