  1. Come join us Saturday at 1:30 at East Side and watch UNT take on Indiana. There should be a food truck or 2 out by halftime. We will also be doing $3 Armadillo Ale Works drafts during the game. We have the Greenbelt, Quakertown and possibly the Wundermelon all for $3. See you guys Saturday and GO MEAN GREEN!

  3. Believe it or not....... losing is not respectable. THAT has been our mind-set for entirely too long. And it's one of many things about our culture that needs to go away.

  7. So today I go eat at a restaurant just in the out skirts of campus and I see 2 things that bother. One guy had an OU hat and shirt and another guy had a Texas Tech shirt. They both had backpacks and textbooks. Why do we have this problem still? I was hearing that campus is getting greener with our student spirit. Why are we still dealing with this... You're a North Texas Mean Green student. Not a band wagon T-shirt fan.....

  8. Nicholls was exactly what we needed at that point in the schedule. Now we go into IU healthy and DW got some good practice. Lots of people don't know the difference between Nicholls and Idaho so a blowout win is always a good thing.

  9. You most certainly would not.

  10. I know there are some decent houses in that neighborhood but aren't most homes average at best? I drove through there before and it looks kind of run down.
    4 points
  11. No problem at all. People shouldn't park there. I'm just tired of the constant complaining from those people. Go to other larger universities that have stadiums in neighborhoods, and see how the people there support the university and make the best of it. In Norman people sell parking spaces at their house and tailgate.

  13. As long as we insist on playing a big program in a money/bodybag game every year, here's what I want our schedule to look like. - Away at top 25 school paying us big $ - Home and home with SMU or a similar school - Home and home with a winnable, lower-tier P5 (i.e. Iowa State, Kansas, Oregon State) - Home game against a team we should thrash. Either bottom of the barrel FBS or an FCS school. UNT90 brought up a really good point. We caught Idaho at a good time last year, with them being independent. Other than that, it's hard to avoid that game being against an FCS school, which isn't a problem.

  14. So beating a bad FCS is different than beating a bad FBS school? Not sure how they are really any different. Both just tell us we can beat bad teams. I think that we learn where our program stands by playing a lot of different levels of teams and seeing where we fall. A win is a win and the more of them we get, the better off we are.

  15. You could beat Ohio or Nicholls and the average fan would only see 77-3. That is what matters. I didn't have anyone come up to me last week and say wow North Texas really beat up a small time school, no i had people come up and say Wow, North Texas put up 77 and dominated, you guys are really becoming a good program. That is what matters.

  16. Most everyone else at least occasionally plays an FCS team, so why not North Texas? Besides, I kind of enjoyed that game.

  17. Six wins is six wins. Every home game is a chance to get students to buy in. Would I rather play someone else at Apogee? Sure. An FCS home game is better than any away game.

  18. Everyone wants to release their inner douche. What better way than wearing UT & OU gear on campus...

  19. Seriously. I don't buy the whole "I stumbled upon the show randomly" thing. If you are involved with the show in some way just come out and say it.

  20. Then you should know how easy it should be to balance the cameras. Ashton's using Panasonic HPX170s; white balance card in front of each, hit the appropriate adjust button for that lighting bank, and boom, done. 15 seconds worth of time. Hahaha, nobody involved with the show created this forum just to pump rainbows and sunshine at them, though it is still a fantastic show content wise. Welcome to GMG.com, buddy.

  24. I thought the piece with Michael and Corbin was awesome. Tearjerker, really. Love the smile on the faces of those kids, and the interactions the players and coaches had with both. James Jones is a good dude! And their parents represented well the battle their sons and their families face daily. I invite you to join me in donating $77 (one dollar for each point NT scored vs. Nicholls) to http://coachtocuremd.org/. Heck, I am going to round it to $80 and cover Nicholls points also! GMG

  26. Because they play in the SEC? Their OOC was a neutral site game at Atlanta against WVU. Their home OOC was Southern Miss, FAU, and Western Carolina. Very comparable, considering those are two teams we play at home.

  27. With a name like foutsrouts, you "kind of enjoyed that game?" Fake Jerry asks: Did you like those 11 touchdowns? "Did you enjoy those? I hope you did. I hope you did very much." I have been on the other side of that score too many times not to enjoy it. GMG

  28. When we scheduled this game did we know Nichols was going to be that bad?

  29. Just makes them look like fools. True.

  30. That's the key. We NEED a quick start. The sooner we can make them one dimensional, the better. Their qb is average. Not the kind of qb you have much confidence in to lead a large comeback. As for our pass rush, I think we have a good pass rush. Truthfully, we'd have even more sacks but we haven't been consistent on bringing the qbs down and we've often over pursued after getting past the offensive line. Getting there hasn't really been a big issue. I have confidence in our pass rush, and making them rely on the pass as well as giving a lot of chances to let our pass rush have an effect would give us a great shot at getting this win. I don't think scoring points will be an issue.

  34. Don't mistake my surprise at the recognition for complacency towards losing. I hate losing and don't ever expect to lose, but I think that considering our recent efforts, predicting us to keep it within a touchdown is respectable. Of course I predict us to win by two scores but I don't write columns on the internet.

  35. To summarize/mediate: I think we'd all agree we're glad and fortunate to have this show, even with the couple of nit-picky points made about narration and color correction. It's a freaking awesome look into our team and the guys involved. Glad it's getting so much attention from outside our own community. Pretty sure somebody on here knows people involved in its production and could forward a message, but that was discussed last year so without digging through all the old topics, maybe somebody could drop a comment here or a PM to our new poster to direct him to the right person/people?

  36. We got to ash and sokol very early in the game. We also got good pressure on ash that did not count as a sack. One he slipped out of, and one he out ran us. The pressure was there and they made adjustments and started moving him. Sokol got pressure early and adjustments had to be made. We did not adjust well, but we got pressure in the first quarter. La tech runs 4 wr, and I havent seen Indiana do a lot of 4 wr in the 2 games I saw. Hopefully that will help. The Indiana qb is not mobile and we can get to him and pressure him. Im just worried about the problems Coleman can bring. Even on 3rd down, if we still have to key on him it will be a problem. 3rd and short, our corners may have to be on an island.

  37. Watching the replay, Nicholls State had to be one of the worst teams we have played in a very long time. Those offensive linemen were some of the slowest slobs I have seen in a college game. Don't be blinded by the sMut and Nicholls stats.

  38. So I guess beating Nicholls 77-3 is just as good as beating Texas 77-3? Of course not. Everyone needs to stop getting their panties in a wad. It's not disrespectful to the team to point out they were facing a bad FCS team. They know it will be a much harder test against IU and if they can be successful against them then they deserve all the accolades we can heap on them. We got 14 of those 19 sacks against Nicholls and SMU, two teams that won't win 2 games between them this year. Against UT and LaTech we gave the QBs all sorts of time, or did I imagine Sokol throwing those 5 TD's against us? This team can prove a lot come this weekend.

  39. Because against Texas and against La. Tech, the only 2 competitive teams we have played, we have had trouble getting consistent pressure. I worry about consistent pressure Saturday. There are still a WHOLE lot of unknowns about this team. Very weird considering we are 4 games into the season. We start getting answers at 1:30 Saturday.

  42. Salient football points. Reality based expectations. Dead on schedule information (remember, I told you 2015 was coming 2 years ago, before there was ever a "contract problem" with Tulsa). A beer if you come by my tailgate. And a club seat level stadium donation. Is that enough?
