  1. Girl came into class wearing an A&M shirt. Teacher made her leave to take it off. #HonorarySuitCrew #ItsUNTNotA&M #GMG — UNT Suit Crew (@UNTSuitCrew) October 1, 2013

  2. The director of the Green Brigade does this consistently. He makes you take off or turn inside out any shirt that is from another college. Glad to see more of this.

  4. If you lead with the shoulder your head will eventually follow. Last time I had a biology class, it was theorized that a person's head was attached to the body via the neck, which is awfully close to the shoulders. But it's been a while. Things may have changed.

  5. With the bye weekend in full effect... New Scrappy and I took to Las Vegas. Sadly there was only time for one picture and I had to hold the camera. This guy loves the Mean Green. Afterwards we all enjoyed $8 beers and free sunglasses. I think I snapped a few pictures of Scrappy at the Hoover Dam but I've yet to find them... A wonderful time was had by all.

  6. So the message is: A ) We're gonna throw CUSA 2.0 a little bone for being reactionary little pricks and sucking our balls so hard. B ) We're gonna let the MAC/CUSA/MWC/SBC scrounge for table scraps at our feet to avoid any bothersome anti-trust litigation. C ) But we're still gonna rule the college world with an iron fisted dictatorship like we have been for three decades, and nobody, not SMU, not BYU, and most certainly not some podunk shithole from Monroe, Louisiana, are ever going to have any real say in the matter. Now where's Chris Berman? We're bored and he needs to bend over and pay us so we can hire the best high school players money can buy. And while we're at it, could somebody from the Nevada Wolfpack see to it that our shrimp tray gets refilled? We're gonna be hungry soon.

  7. It's funny that you began with 1989 as the demise of America. From 1980-1988 the national debt went from about $1 trillion to $3 trillion. Spending as a percentage of GDP was at the highest level in this period. This era was the beginning of America's trend of borrowing much more than it brings in. The extreme flaw of supply side economics which is one of the absolute worst plans in our country's history has crippled us to the point we have never recovered. Only for a brief period in the mid and late 90's have we had a balanced budget. And that period was promptly crapped on by another supply side nutjob.

  8. Seriously. After Adman put up the information in the other thread, I've called four times. Twice to that number, twice to a different number they gave me. I asked if they could tell me whether it would be on or blacked out in my area. The first two morons couldn't comprehend what I was asking. The third asked me THREE TIMES if I was already a DISH customer and didn't understand what "no, but somebody who is will be letting me use theirs if it's on" and then hung up on me when I started losing my patience at his idiocy. The fourth told me that I need to make the sports bars find it on their guide or go there (an hour away) and do it myself. So no, I don't have DISH and wasn't going to get it just for this weekend. But this brief period of interaction has made me borderline homicidal towards those idiots. There is NO way I would ever let such a group of subhuman imbeciles EVER install ANYTHING in or near my home. Does anybody else have any information? Because I certainly can't get it from the jackasses that actually work for the company that may or may not be showing it.

  9. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9759741/army-boston-college-air-force-navy-games-await-final-approval pretty much says that the games are on for this weekend, pending final approval. the expenses would not be made by the government, but in other ways... can't say i agree with this...only the football players get to play their sports during this shutdown, not all athletic events...don't think that's cool...either the government opens up to let them all events get played or they don't...

  10. Yes, we do, but a close loss is NOT the end of the world, although it will feel like it to myself and many others. If we lose, we go from 4 winnable games in a row to three. Win at home against MTSU and then on the road against terrible La. Tech and USM and we are 5-3 overall and 3-1 in conference. But, thats for a later date. Beat Tulane. And for the love of George... Be aggressive!!!

  12. There is nothing to compromise on when the law is passed, upheld by the supreme court, and the president is re-elected. IT"S THE LAW. Get over it and move on. The best thing that could happen for republicans would be that the law failed. So if everyone is so sure of its failure, why not let it fail instead of derailing it before it begins?

  17. Refute what, exactly? Your asinine, off-the-cuff, ad hominem assertion that the mantra of Obama's entire presidency is his unwillingness to negotiate? I thought two months ago it was the opposite? The ACA isn't a bill open for discussion, negotiation and change. It's law...discussed, negotiated, changed, voted on and passed by a democratically elected Congress...signed by a democratically elected President and vetted per the instruction of the oh-so hallowed and infallible document that all of these opponents claim to hold so dear. There are legislative measures that can be taken to reform this law. But...that would take actual legislative work...something that I doubt highly those we've elected are capable of doing. I'm not sure if that's a sadder commentary on the elected or the electorate.

  20. That Pelican has been Tulane's mascot/symbol for as long as I can remember. Older brother of mine graduated from Tulane in the mid-50's and that Pelican was part of Tulane back then. And, the school newspaper(I think) was and still is called the "Hullabaloo". Shades of aggieland!

  21. Hahaha. How is that even remotely relevant? Who cares about all of this anyways, all republicans & democrats are crooks and the sooner you realize it and quit paying attention to things like this the better off you will be.

  25. So I'm curious - since we are new to the Sun Belt and y'all were here for many years. Did y'all refuse to call them "UL" or "Louisiana" to simply get under their skin? Surely you didn't care THAT much what a team prefers to be called..... just looking for insight, no trolling

  28. Nope, he was a defensive end for Southeastern OK State. D2.. and in OK.... yes.. I know. BUT they won conference! My 6'5, 265 lb, 24 yr old (other) brother was pressure recruited by Mac the day he came to our house to see #19. Funny. He was a basketball player and now he looks like a stout TE. He still has 3 years of eligibility and a UNT grad now. Our dad is 6'9. I have a son. He'll be there in 11 years.

  29. Funny how there are 2 or 3 on here who are always negative yet always right and the remainder of us are just apologist. What is it like to be so superior? Please, as I sit with unbridled expectations, tell me what it is like to be so right that you would never consider another's opinion?

  37. Attendance has always been a problem. We need to get past denial. UNT needs help to fill the stadium. Winning alone won't do it. Sorry, that's how it is. How many fans from other schools show up at Apogee? Pretty much none unless it's a local school. Idaho, Ball State, nor the Sunbelt ever brought more than a few fans. The 2 largest crowds I've seen this millennium were Baylor at Fouts and Houston at Apogee. We bring 14,000 - 20,000 fans to most games. That's the base. CUSA should help. UTEP, UTSA, and Rice should add 4,000 - 8,000 to that total for their games.

  40. FAU gave the game away against Rice in last 5 minutes. No way they should have lost that game. On another note, I think Texas State is playing better than us at this point in time. However,if we beat Tulane on the road, and MTSU at home, then we will make a big jump. Just an old man's opinion.

  42. There are 162 Ranger games on television each year. There are 16 Cowboy games. Baseball is a casual viewing regular season sport. Football is event viewing for all games ( although I haven't planned to watch a Cowbpy game in about 8 years). If the Cows played 162 games a year on TV, you would see similar ratings.
    1 point
  43. So we are comparing a weeknight on cable to a weekend afternoon on broadcast and expecting the same results? The Cowboys game didn't have the same level of competition for viewers as the game has little new programming competition as it is not during prime-time. What did the game get in Tampa? What is the average rating on a weeknight for a Rangers game? Those numbers have almost no context by which to judge them. Add to this that he went to the Angels, which is easily not a "baseball town."
