I bet all their fans are trying to learn to write right now so they can vent on message boards.3 points

Keep watching and you'll figure it out. It's kind of like those graduate classes at K-State where they show you pictures of different shapes and you have to figure out the pattern.3 points

He made up for it by granting each team a win that they haven't earned yet.3 points

Tasty, I respect and understand your opinion. Unfortunately, coaches are measured more by wins and losses than by scholarship retention rates. At a university, right or wrong, it seems to go against the mission of a school which is to educate young people first and provide extra-curricular opportunities second. But as I stated earlier, a coach's job security is tied to winning percentage so decisions like these are made.3 points

Last year when Knoxxy "left" the team not a peep was made. Trey Norris "leaves" the team and the we're in an uproar. Look yourselves in the mirror guys.3 points

Announcer says they "probably didn't get a record crowd" and that the "TAMU fans probably outnumber the SMU fans". Also, anyone wish we played SMU this year?2 points
-
It certainly looks like a good crowd, but there are a ton of empty seats, particularly in the endzone, and the grass hill is not even close to full. I'm seriously shocked its not overflowing, not just talking trash about SMU. It looks like the entire non-press box side of the stadium is ATM fans, as well as a lot of the endzone.2 points

Lot of hype for ASU's new head coach. I don't see it. He goes for a 4th and 8 on the opening drive of the game at midfield, basically setting up Nebraska's first TD.2 points

Sure, like when they tell someone at work they should look for another position. I am amazed that you (not the plural you) keep trying to justify something that has no justification other than winning is important enough to force a player off the team. Like the example employee who is told he better look elsewhere, he could have stayed around where he is not wanted and denied the wishes of his coach with little chance to play and the almost sure non-renewal of his scholarship next year. That is not a choice and even the biggest apologist for the action should be able to recognize it.2 points

Well, Alzee Williams is our only senior for the 2013-2014 season so we only have one scholarship for the 2014 class. Better make it count, and Benford would be making it count with this kid.2 points

CUSA needs to go out and win their games- if not then they rightly deserve to be under the SunBelt. I'll never root against the underdog against the big boys.2 points

I doubt we get any top 25 votes for two losses. I think this team may be a little too young for the Top 25, although, we should be able to string a bunch of wins together when sun belt play starts, and I do see a win Sunday against a good TCU team. Next year could be the real breakout year. We have a bunch of Freshman on the field in critical positions this year. The fact that we can go toe-to-toe with these teams should be a big confidence builder. All we have to do is get to the NCAA tourney and anything can happen. We've showed that we can compete.2 points

We are a young team. Playing two ranked opponents closely like this makes me excited for the next couple of years as well as conference this year. Go Mean Green!2 points

What has Knox got to do with anything? He was on ship for three years and the date for not renewing scholarships is in July. So worst case he was given the talk after 3 years and his ship was not renewed, a far different case than Trey. You know this topic might die if you (the plural you) would stop trying to defend NT's actions. Speaking for myself, I can live with the situation, fully support the team and am more than willing to go on; just stop trying to justify or minimize something that many of us think was wrong.2 points

I really hope Joshua Friar doesn't stumble upon this thread and say "Oh boy! I wonder what the Mean Green Nation is saying about me!"2 points

http://m.dentonrc.com/drc/db_23057/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=xfFj7Zs3 ...This Year. The author of the story states CUSA and Sunbelt are the two worst leagues. Is the MAC Still Around? Gotta be honest haven't kept up with CUSA this year or Mac.1 point

I'm curious to see what the reported attendance will be -- 42,000?1 point

Men's Golf and possibly Men's basketball would be my only picks, but no other sports program at this University can even compare to what the women's soccer team has accomplished. I fell in love with the team my freshman year, and rank them right up with football and basketball in my mind.1 point

The primary part of that mission is still in tact. You did not include anything about that education being free. It's not like he was kicked out of the school. He would have just had to pay for it like the majority of other students and their families. I disagree that the second part of the schools mission is to provide extra-curricular opportunities. There are likely even more things that come before that, but your point is understood.1 point

This is actually straight out of the terrorist handbook...car bombs are much easier to place, more destructive and can be used to kill not just students but first responders too. You have to ask yourself, does anyone recall a time a bomber called in his intent to harm students and then actually detonated a bomb?1 point

Yes, and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't May AFTER the spring national signing day for basketball? And doesn't that leave UNT scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for someone to fill that 'ship? Kinda Trey in reverse? And I agree with P1. I would bet the house that JJ had a come to Jesus meeting with Knoxxy about what his future at UNT would hold (zero minutres of playing time), much like the meeting Benford probably had with Trey. Just for the record, I don't think Knox left us scrapping the bottom of the barrel. I think JJ already had that barrel filled. Edit: Just saw where Spring signing ends the middle of May. Highly suspicious for a "son, we gotta talk" exit. Damn!!! Suckered back in!!!1 point

Once you get to know someone you find out how little difference amongst people there is in this world. It's kinda heart-warming1 point

Again, how do we know? I could tell when Norris was on the floor that he was a speedy, pass-first PG with skills. Was he as good as Jones? No. Was he as good as Alzee? No. Was he as good as Hardwick? Who knows? What does height have to do with anything? By the way, I've heard that Jordan Williams has grown an inch or two taller over the year! Sweet! How do we know how burried he was going to be? We don't. It sounds like we agree. And please don't think that I don't support coach Benford or the team. I'm 100% behind coach Benford and the guys. I'm super excited for the upcoming season. Maybe I should take a queue from Tasty and just shut up.1 point

I'm up on Long Island visiting my family for the weekend - Stony Brook, specifically (remember them from the College World Series?). I'm hoping some cable channel will be showing the game here. CBL - will NESN be carrying it? Care to swim across LI Sound and find a place in Pt. Jefferson to watch it?1 point

So much for myself getting ridiculed by KState Alums tomorrow. Apparently, the Rocky Mountain KState Alumni Assn. has moved their Watching Parties to a nice, snooty (snotty), Place near Invesco, instead of the hole-in-the-wall they've been at in past years. Guess they ARE moving up in the World! lol No need to pay $6 a pop for a Draft Beer there, that is about the size of a Shot Glass. On the positive, there is a new BW3 here on the South Side of Denver, so I'll probably check that out and represent! Go Mean Green! A Cover would be nice, but I'll take no injures, the Paycheck, and two TD's and a FG...after what KState did to the 'U' last Saturday.1 point
