  1. Past hour
  2. Someone post that protest picture... It's exhibit A as to why interest is not in our programs. And our Waldo lookin prez pats himself on the back for "growing" the university. Thanks, buddy.
  3. I think patience is important here. The long game here is to wait until about 20 or so P5 programs have to come up for oxygen. They can't and won't be able to keep up. Donor fatigue will eventually set in.... a drop in ratings will be met with that. Administrators will start looking for other options. The only option is us and our likings.
  4. Didn't CJ end up transferring there? Wonder why he wasn't mentioned.
  5. Good for them. There is no longer a Houston Oilers or a team that wears that design. As usual the NFL believes they own the world and should be able to do anything they want to do. Kudos to the U of H
  6. Jim speaks the truth here. I just am ready for it to happen.
  7. You are right. His injuries didn't help.
  8. Generally, I would agree with you, but we would need to commit a lot more resources to marketing and promoting those areas before I’d take our head coaches there. Just a few short years ago, I went to the one in Fort Worth and there were maybe 20 people there outside of athletic, university, and alumni association staff members, and of those 20 probably 10 were people who came down from Denton. I can’t imagine how disappointing it is as a head coach to show up to those kind of events with the lack of support. I kind of wish they’d find a way to incorporate some musical group like the Eli Young Band to help drum up interest in these. We need to find some kind of “hook” for these events to build these up.
  9. Buggs was the most disappointing transfer we had last year. We already have three players that are much better than him at the guard spot.
  10. Today
  11. The next option is not what you want…to continue as a nomad that gets paid for OOC body bag games or play in a conference that gets no chance to ever win a title. Playing teams like the Power Teams in the B1G, SEC, most of the Big 12 and some of the ACC is not in the best interests of any G5 school anymore. The money is too much for them to ever let us fight fair.
  12. I remember her sister Acheil Tac playing for Jalie. I wonder if she is also related to 6-5 Adhel Tac of South Grand Prairie? Just signed wIth the national champions South Carolina Gamecocks?
  13. Yesterday
  14. Like I stated, some players that depart early for pro or NIL deals will be revered as essential parts of our sports legacy for their contributions. They have earned their accolades and any post-career honors we may bestow upon them. Others that come and go may only be regarded as productive journeymen. I am grateful that they selected North Texas as their stepping stone and brought their talents to Denton for a year. I too am not thrilled with how NIL has destabilized rosters, but I am happy that we have a coaching staff that has demonstrated that they can navigate these new challenges.
  15. The only thing remotely related is their star freshman, JT Toppins, being from Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy. Unfortunately, there's no chance he transfers to UNT based on the amount of national interest.
  16. Four signed today, looks like an excellent group. I wish the men side could do something close in recruiting. I like what Hodge has done, but nothing close to Burton. He has thus far kept his players and added this group to them. As I posted before, kepting Lambert was the best news on the NT basketball front.
  17. I agree the entire NCAA needs revised or taken over by another entity (not named SEC or Big10). But to drop is down to G5 National Champion status is no different then 1-AA or FCS National Champ. No Thanks. Next option?
  18. Think it would be a good idea to add stops in Central Texas, East Texas, West Texas, and Oklahoma to those already planned to extend our footprints to new areas.

  20. NCAA Finances: Revenue & Expenses by School - USA TODAY The reshaping of the entire system needs to be done ASAP. Let the NFL-lite and NBA-lite programs run their own teams. Hell, own them if they want. Pay players, trade them, sign them to long-term deals, etc. Let them be pros. The rest of us need to play traditional college sports. Scholarships + stipends. Let them be college kids. Give G5 schools a chance to be a national champion. You'll get a lot of us olds back with this plan. And olds have time and money.
  21. Now a 5 star recruit and the #1 linebacker in the country.
  22. Let's all take a quick break and listen to a little beautiful music loved by all Americans. Students proving that you don't have to be from Pangea to be a good person.
  23. Yeah I truly don't give a crap about New Mexico unless they're on our schedule. If it helps, step outside for some fresh air.
  24. This is a means to him. It's the highest living wage he has ever earned in his life. To hell with defense, because he knows if he keeps putting up offensive numbers he will parlay his HC job to a more substantiated P5 OC job than what Washington State had/has to offer... a la Seth Littrell. It's not about winning anymore. It's about statistically doing well in what your perceived MO is while at the G5 level. This thought process has now even infiltrated the G5 head coaching level.

  26. Planning to wear Oilers' inspire uniforms for a game this year. https://www.athleticbusiness.com/operations/article/15669979/u-of-houston-ignores-nfl-plans-to-honor-oilers-with-powderblue-uniform?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ATHLCD240502002&utm_term=&oly_enc_id=9130G4710801F3S
