"Greer completed just one of his first seven pass attempts and tossed two key interceptions".

“We have to improve in the passing game and prepare better,” Greer said. “We didn’t execute the things that we worked all week on.”

Thank you Captain Obvious.

A great bit of "coach speak".

“Neither quarterback played well, but we had protection issues and drops by receivers,” UNT coach Dan McCarney said. “It was really unacceptable and disappointing.”

Drops? The only drops I saw were when they were thowing those sideline passes and the receiver was trying to catch it whilst going to the ground.....wearing two defenders.

The best opportunities for completions were over the middle and all of them were overthrows...by both QB's. The first overthrow was by Greer when Smith was wide open over the middle. Smith is 6'4" BTW. How in hell do you overthrow a wide open 6'4" receiver?

Haha.. You telling me you need to prepare better. Going into Austin with all the hype this game had for us and you are saying you didn't really prepare? Interesting. "We didn't execute the things we worked on all week". Really, you all must have worked on throwing 5-10 yard passes in practice but failed to execute that difficult task! Hilarious

I agree!!! It is hard to understand, while sitting in my recliner eating peach cobbler with Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla on top, "how in the hell do you overthrow a wide open 6'4" receiver" against a university team with some of the best athletes/recruits in the country.

sarcasm in case you missed it!

Uhh...that is dumb sarcasm. It is a good question. They had those seams open every time they tried them. They just couldn't hit the receiver once. BYU runs that spread read-option stuff and they will see that on film and will feast on it bc they have a capable QB in Tayson Hill, a QB that can throw the football and run it for that matter. So those nonchalant PA's they do out of shotgun will have meaning behind it. And you better believe that Hill will not miss those wide open guys trotting down the seam.
