My vote goes to the offensive guard.

Centers and deep-snappers are fairly anonymous until they bounce one or sail one over the quarterback/punter's head. Tackles can be fairly unseen also until the quarterback gets sacked then it's the tackle's fault because he's the primary protector. The tight end usually goes unnoticed but he occasionally catches a pass or scores a touchdown. Almost everyone on defense is in the limelight for at least a few plays.

The offensive guard just works his butt off, seldom gets beaten, and no one notices.

Great topic. My pick is the holder on field goals and extra points. That poor guy never gets mentioned unless it's a bad kick, then everyone looks at him like he farted in church. Most of the time, it's not even his fault. He's just trying to handle a bad snap or the kicker choked. I don't even know who it is on our team.
