FIBA Championships Second Round Format

Recommended Posts

FIBA does their championships a little weird.

The next three games for the USA are:

July 4th - Canada

July 5th - Lithuania

July 6th - Croatia

We are in a group with those three teams (that progressed through group C) and the two other teams (Egypt and Serbia) that advanced from our group. The results from the first round spill over, INCLUDING the results against teams eliminated from the tournament. In our case that game is the win against China, and for the teams from group C, their games against Korea count toward this next stage.

The teams froms groups A and B are in a six team group of their own, and the top 4 teams from each group progress to the knockout round. Due to the USA being the only team left undefeated in the tournament, we are currently at the top of Group F.

Canada appears to be pretty bad...we all know Lithuania is good because they beat us last week, and Croatia took down Lithuania in the first game in group C, so they must have a decent team as well.

I guess our other signee , Niko Stojo , didn't make the French U20 sqaud. He's not listed on the current roster for the team that starts playing in 2 weeks

Are we sure he is still eligible to play at the U-20 level?

EDIT: Nevermind. He is eligible.
