Maybe Granger wasn't our #1. Plus, Osborn has three years of eligibility left and didn't share time at QB like Granger did.

Maybe he wasnt, but a Chico Qb is one thats a duel threat, even Mac said he wanted a duel threat qb bc its harder to play against. Just kinda strange how they get another pro style qb when they already have one in thompson. Who cares if Granger has 2 years left, Mac wants to start getting 4 year players. After he is done your Qb that you recruited will now be a JR and ready to play.

Osborn's stats claim he runs a 4.7 40 yard dash. Not earth shattering or Rileyesque, but good enough to keep a defense honest. I'm pleased with this signing and look for good things from Riley, Derek and now Brent.

His straight speed is probably that. He doesn't seem "quick", though -- it takes him a few steps to get up to that speed. Riley is probably quicker than he is. You're right ... it should be enough to keep a defense honest.

I like the idea of a duel threat QB. Gotta hope he's quick though... The speed of the game is much faster at the FBS level.

If we can run and pass the ball well, a slow QB will make yards. Especially if the QB can throw it 40+ yards with some accuracy. We have to have some faith the staff knows what they are doing. (until they prove otherwise) Plus, not every kid will be a star player, much less a starter. We have to have backups and role players.

I'm sure that Mike Canales was the final say-so on QB recruits. If Chico chooses Osburn it's good enough for me. Let the competition begin.
