UNT @ LSU next year will have so much impact on the future of NT BB.

Win , LSU will probably fire their coach at the end of the season & JJ will be the top of their list

Lose , LSU keeps their coach , JJ stays and everyone is happy

JJ just reeks of class. If we gold onto him another few years - he will be #1 all time in basketball wins at NT(probably pass Shands in about 4 seasons at our current rate). Should that happen there is absolutely no question he's the best basketball coach in school history. I say that with all respect to Coach Blakely, Dan Spika, Pete Shands or anyone else you want to throw up there.

LSU was absolutely awful this year. I still don't know how WKU managed to lose to them.

Too early in the year...both teams still figuring things out? Kinda like how that Boise State loss looked at years end.

      Preseason All AAC 2024

      It used to be fun to follow the player acquisition process. I’d pay attention to who we were offering. If a DFW kid committed to North Texas, I’d jump in the car on a Friday night and watch his high school game. I’d scour his Rivals.com highlights too and follow his senior season in the papers. The player was going to be a Mean Green Eagle. Just like me. Maybe he’d have some of the same professors I did and hang out at the same places I used to? I’d invest in learning about him and would follow his career and development for four years. I’d show up to the Spring game to see who looked good. The transfer portal ruined all that for me. It is just too much to track and the payoff isn’t enough. Plus, most of the player movement news at North Texas is that my favorite player is leaving. I’m still a season ticket holder. I give to NIL and MGSF. I’ll show up with my family to every game we can. But I don’t know who these guys are who play for my school now. Dave Campbell’s Texas Football is at the printer and these guys are still coming and going. It is pointless to follow all this movement. Wake me up when the season starts and tell me who our guys are.

      Not at present, but when they receive NIL pay from the school they should be. Why don't we just agree to disagree and see how things play out in the next few years if not sooner. At present its just speculation as to how players will be classified in the future. At age 81 I could be dead by then and it won't matter, at least to me. However, you could find yourself rooting for the HEB/UNT GREEN GROCERS football team trying to schedule a game with a member of the ALLSTATE 12 FOOTBALL CONFERENCE. Who knows?
