EDIT: With the end of softball season comes the look-ahead to the 2024-25 academic/athletic year. The 2024 football season will open in Mobile at Sun Belt foe South Alabama, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy the beach and some Mean Green football on Labor Day Weekend.

Original message: Looking ahead to 2024, our first game is on the road at South Alabama in Mobile, the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. I'm reaching out to about 20 friends to begin with about getting to the game, then enjoying some beachin' in Gulf Shores. Would love to know how many others are trying to do the same and encourage others who haven't thought about it!

Assuming the game is still planned, I’ve been hyped to make this trip to Lubbock since the home and home was announced. Would have a big crew traveling that way if so.

I will be trying to get a group up to Lubbock as well. Both games offer something even for those who don't normally go to games whether it's location (South Alabama) or environment (Texas Tech).

If our 2024 conference road opponents hold true despite SMU leaving, then that would give us road games against UTSA, UAB, FAU, and East Carolina. Depending on the date, a trip to San Antonio should be a go, and even Birmingham could be a wild card.

I already tried to book a hotel and their website wouldn’t let me book it for that Saturday. But I’ll likely be making that trip.

Hopefully bringing at least a son or a wife.
