The double open date comes in early October when the Tigers won't play for three weeks between an Oct. 1 date with Prairie View and a Oct. 22 road tilt with Mississippi Valley State.

Opening with a bye week is worse.  If we had a normal circumstance where you play a tune up opponent like an idaho, and then play SMU the following week, it could have resulted into 2 wins and a little momentum...flip side of that is if we won a few more games, Mac and Co would still be coaching, so I guess it may work out in the end.

I gotta agree on this one. Chalk one up to the sweatervest. You'd have to try pretty hard to form a schedule worse than ours was last year.
