  1. Past hour
  2. Great information Losing the literal foundation of Delong's softball program at NT This should be NT's year, but as good as the team is; it IMO has underperforms thus far based on the senior class. Several of the seniors were actually much better earlier in their NT's careers.
  3. Today
  4. So in his time here, Seth Littrell signed a CFL quarterback, and two quarterbacks who were signed to the NFL as UDFA’s. Not bad.
  5. It almost feels like the baseball farm system with us being AAA.
  6. Hope he makes the roster. Would be fun to watch him sling it in the NFL.
  7. In my relatively short time as a Mean Green fan, I don't think I've seen a team so carried by seniors. This weekend's series was the last three games at Lovelace for 10 Mean Green seniors, and all but one (Truitt) was either an everyday starter or saw significant playing time. Here's who will be returning barring any transfers. All classifications are what they will be in 2025. Likely starters (in my opinion) Rylee Nicholson (SR) - UT Cierra Simon (SR) - SS Madison Conley (SO) - UT Tatum Sparks (JR) - UT Elizabeth Moffitt (SO) - C Jodie Epperson (JR) - OF Returning Pitching Staff Skylar Savage (SR) Mackenzie Childers (JR) Kayleigh Smith (SO) Returning, but will they play? Mikaela Olguin (JR) - OF Emma Grahmann (SR) - IF Blayze McNemar (SO or RS-F?) - OF Maci George (SO or RS-F?) - IF There doesn't appear to be a website to find commits for softball, so through social media, here are the incoming freshmen I have found: Katy Brock, OF, Mabank Shelby Buffington, P, Franklin Page (Tennessee) Rylie Harris, C, Forney Gracie Mahoney, P, Macomb Dakota (Michigan) - another 6 footer, like Skylar Ausha Moore, IF, Carl Albert HS (Midwest City, OK) Taylor Platt, OF, Argyle Committed Inbound Freshmen for 2026 Eva Daniels, IF, Forney Laila Nobles, IF, Pearland Addie Perry, UT/C, Aledo Love the Metroplex talent we are bringing in. Forney's currently the #1 team in the state. But looks like we still have a handful of spots to fill next year. Going to need to improve the hitting and power. Maybe we can land some home run threats in the portal who want to get closer to home. I'll post stories and highlights of the commits shortly.
  8. Hopefully after a few more years we will all be more accepting of heartbreak. I got used to it in high school.
  9. Yes, foolish us fans for thinking players are here in the program and loyal to the school.
  10. It's easier for us to say it's fun since we're not the ones who have to recruit an entire new team every year, but it's honestly exciting to see how the new team is built. The max exodi of beloved players sucks, but in this new age losing guys like TP, Drez, Rubin and Aaron doesn't have to mean a several-year rebuild. Now we can "retool" and even get better. I think this year was more of a gut punch because it felt to me and many others that Rubin and Aaron were Mean Green for life. They've been the constant leaders throughout the past turnover. But even healthy we weren't the most talented team in the conference. And I trust Hodge. The past seven years Grant and Hodge have run a clean program and as much as I love the guys who have played for us, I trust Hodge and Forte will continue recruiting players who will be good representatives of the university, even if only for a year. I also agree we need two more PF's - at least one who can space the floor shooting 3's. Assuming we have at least three scholarships left, so assume we'll see another guard. I'd like to see us bring on one guy who's averaged 18PPG or more. Doesn't matter which position though it'd be a nice changeup for it to be a high scoring big man.
  11. Weather has become a factor in a lot of games this season. Wet spring has really made this softball season pleasant. Feel like we had several 90+ degree games last season.
  12. Here's what the conference tournament would look like if it started today. Finishing 2nd or 3rd is the difference between having to win just two games in two days, or four games in four days. Wednesday, May 8 - First Round Game 1: No. 5 Wichita State vs No. 8 South Florida - 10 a.m. (ESPN+) Game 2: No. 4 Tulsa vs No. 9 UTSA - 1 p.m. (ESPN+) Game 3: No. 6 UAB vs No. 7 East Carolina - 4 p.m. (ESPN+) Game 4: No. 10 Memphis vs No. 3 North Texas - 7 p.m. (ESPN+) Thursday, May 9 - Second Round Game 5: Winner WSU/USF vs Winner Tulsa/UTSA - 12 p.m. (ESPN+) Game 6: Winner UAB/ECU vs Winner Memphis/UNT - 2:30 p.m. (ESPN+) Friday, May 10 - Semifinals Game 7: Winner WSU/USF/Tulsa/UTSA vs No. 1 FAU - 12 p.m. (ESPN+) Game 8: Winner UAB/ECU/Memphis/UNT vs No. 2 Charlotte - 2:30 p.m. (ESPN+) Saturday, May 11 - Championship Game 9: Winner Game 7 vs Winner Game 8 - 11 a.m. (ESPN2)
  13. Yes, win 2 of 3 in Charlotte and should be at least Top 2. If we do that and there's a three-way tie for first at 19-8, I'd imagine we'd take the top spot because we'd be 4-2 vs. the field, FAU 3-3, and Charlotte 2-4 in that hypothetical. Thanks! Wasn't able to watch that game, just kept up on Twitter.
  14. Regardless of what happens tomorrow.....we need to win 2 of 3 in Charlotte....right? As to backup catcher Moffitt......in our last game at Memphis....she tripped over first base....and fell on her wrist. I'm guessing it's a sprained wrist. As to backup catcher....I don't think we have one. But they used Olguin to warm up people in the bullpen. And remember on Kalei....she had to catch 16 innings last night.....and today's game was early. So might just be gassed. Go Mean Green!!!
  15. I missed the first inning but good to see Childers back in and getting some momentum. She retired the first eight batters she faced, striking out five or six but then unfortunately walked the bases loaded with two outs. After a wild pitch scored one, #29 for the Shockers hit her 18th homer of the year to put WSU up 4-0 on only 1 hit. The same freshman pitcher for the Shockers that was perfect through 4.2 last night started today and had a no-hitter through 4.2 again. Unfortunately this time she did not break. Wagoner had the last four innings and pitched well until WSU got some insurance runs off of her in the 7th. I hope Childers can get back in a rhythm. Gonna be tough to go to Charlotte with 1st place still on the line with only two reliable pitchers. Another thing I noticed this weekend was that Kalei seems to be a little slow going after those wild pitches. Obviously the first run of the day scored on that. We didn't even get a throwback to contest. I wonder if she's hurt. Backup catcher Moffitt was in a sling this weekend, I wonder what happened to her. I don't know if we have a third catcher on staff. Charlotte and FAU both won today, so they're 17-6 and we're 17-7. Would be nice if USF and UAB did us a favor and won tomorrow so we'd be tied for first heading into the final weekend. Seems UAB wins when we need them to lose, and vice versa. I just want a top two seed so we only have to win two games to take the conference title. I'm really tempted to go ahead and request Friday the 10th off so I can head up to Wichita.
  16. Gabriel Murphy to Vikings & Grayson Murphy to Dolphins. Noah Rauschenberg got an invite to Chiefs rookie camp.
  17. UNT has got to get guys drafted. 2 in the last 20 years despite having 5 different head coaching regimes during that time period isn't good for a D1 Texas school.
  18. Our kicker perhaps? Saw that Jason Bean was heading to Indianapolis and made me wonder if we will see anyone in an NFL camp this year.
  19. Yesterday
  20. I need help here. Is this the most accomplished/experienced transfer class we've had in the McCasland/Hodge era(s)? Not asking about how those classes panned out, just the class itself at commitment/signing. I feel we needed to be sold a lot more during other recent recruiting cycles. This is all looking really good.
  21. Lol. Reading it. I’d rank the novel up there with Dune and Lonesome Dove if anyone here is a fellow former UNT English major and would like to break off into small groups and discuss.
  22. Maybe it is just me, but does he look like Devin Harris?
