Vintage Jersey Pictures

Anybody have any pictures of vintage 60's and 70's UNT football Jersey's... Mitchell and Ness don't make College Throwbacks, so I'm gonna have one made and want it to be as close to authentic as possible...Even if it means borderline plain and ugly...

Any idea when this pic is from and is this representative of our Jersey then?

That photo of Joe is from his sophomore or junior year, I would bet. To completely replicate the jersey, consider the following. The color green is slightly darker than the current green that we are using. I would call it grass green (but certainly not the old dark green that Dickey used). All numbers are white and done by the tackle twill process, which is cut out fabric numbers stitched onto the jersey. The sleves are three quarter length, I think and there is one small stripe, one wide stripe and then on small stripe of white on the sleves. Obviously, there is a bit of green between each stripe. The white stripes were woven into the fabric of the jersey. Hope that helps. None of the jersey has any silk screening on it. Also, we did not have player names on the back of the jerseys back then.

Call me old school, but that's exactly what I wanted to know...3/4 sleeve, all heavy cotton, everything stitched on, that's what I figured...If they don't know, then let them ask...

There are replica Mean Joe jerseys made from that era. Occasionally you'll see them on eBay.

This one is a little different with the shiney fabric on shoulders and dull on the shirt, plus it is signed by the man himself.....

These are the more common "throwback" jerseys available.....

I own one of the Jerseys that online sport displays, but I got it from the discount sportswear store on Harry Hines in Dallas. And I didn't pay $97.

drex is right, they didn't have the name on the jerseys back then.

I'd like to have a throwback jersey like the ones that they wore in the early-to-mid-60's with the shoulder stripes. It's the one that John Love (#27) is wearing in that collage at the ramp leading to section D&E.

The ones worn in the early to mid 60's are the best. I like the shoulder strips. I wish our uni's were closer to old school than the new stuff. I know it is hard to do with the 100's of logo and color changes, but I like the teams that have strips instead of the new markings (like LSU).

Appreciate the links, but neither of those actually have them available for sale....Spoke to that guy on Ebay...He has someone make the jerseys for him and then hegets them signed...

I'm looking for something a little more authentic and non-autographed, I'd want to have him personally auto it for me...

Thanks again for the help though! Looking like I'm going to have to find a jersey manufacturer or figure out how to do it on my own...

No name, 3/4 length sleeve, narrow shouldered, three striped on the shoulders, all tack and twill, straight up old school classic...
