Auburn crushes Eagles!

I was at the women's game - report coming - but did hear the JJ interview. If we are as injured as it sounds, and our bench was as short as it sounds, we played a heckuva game tonight.

A 25 point loss looks bad, but with out 4 players, 3 that get significant time, you have to be able to see a light there.

Plus, looking at our schedule, we could have a legitimate edge oner some of these teams with who we have played - tough.

Just a positive look.

Thank God it is such a long season with so many games to be played and so much time for the team to improve.

Where was the football team at the midway point in the season when the games with power conference teams ended and the conference schedule began? As I remember it was 1-5.

Buford, I love your optimism, but the comparisions aren't valid. The football team only got beaten badly, by final score standards, by UT and Bama while playing the rest of the teams from the "power" conferences closely. In fact, they should have won a couple of these games. The basketball team, on the other hand, is getting hammered by everyone.

I hope my feelings are wrong, and your outlook on the future is correct.

Ok. Let's go back to 2001 after the loss in Louisiana and all the fans(including me) thought Dickey should be fired. Even Villareal was pleading with Dickey to "Give me something to work with."

Although some of the fans were negative right up to the last 30 seconds of the NM State game, remember Eagle Man's "The Mean Green are choking", the team never gave up and won the conference championship.

Many of the BB players have suffered just as much and have never given up. I will never forget seeing two guys dive into the bench and the courtside seats after loose balls in the last three minutes of a 4-22 season.

I never predicted a Top 25, a conference championship or 20 wins, but I still think this team is capable of being a respected force in the Sun Belt and finish with a winning season.
