NT will have 5 players who will be participating in the THSCA game on July 29, at the Alamodome. I think thats the largest number that NT has had in a All Star game in a while.

DB Royce Hill will be the lone representative for the South Squad

New name on this list-

Aaron Fortenberry, OL, 6-5, 260, Era TX

I do not remember this prospect during recruiting or signing day.

Late signing by North Texas, or walk on?

Any information on this guy?

Invited walk-on, if I have the term correct.

He hasn't signed a LOI, ............if he did sign a LOI it was after signing deadline which means any other school can come in and grab him. This information has been checked out with appropriate individuals in the Athletic Department.

Info on prospective recruits needs to be posted on the recruiting forum...he can be taken by any college who looses one of their commits until he actuallyl enrolls at NT.

Once a player officially commits to NT in a LOI within the signing period and THAT FACT becomes known publically through commercial recruiitng web sites or in a newspaper article it info can be posted on the regular football board....the high school paper quoted as he has sign is not correct unless it refers to a LOI signed after recruiting period.

Really looking forward to Darien Williams play. I have heard a lot of nice things about this kid and his potential impact to the program.

On Riley - I have concerns about him even playing in this game after his surgery...

I was really surprised at how small he really is (Riley). I am not that big - 6'2" maybe if I stand up straight - and fell like I towered over him.

This post has been erased because it contained information on a NT prospective football player which should have been posted to the football recruiting board. Also deleted any post that quoted this information.

Gee, you think we can hide info that is available to anyone with internet access. This is paranoia at it's best, a player that is selected to the high school all star game as well as a state wide all classification team and someone believes that this is proprietary data. Overkill? I would hate to "loose" a player due to loose lips.

TD mentioned Riley would play in this at the signing day Q&A, a few weeks before Riley could even throw a ball again. It is an honor to be invited and play in this game. I bet Riley is anxious to show he has recovered, and I'm anxious to see him play again too. I just don't want a big QB controversy going into fall camp.

Interesting, wonder why #5 Seth Davis of Celina is playing? Where's our boy Troy Franklin or D'Anton Lynn (Penn St)?

Troy is Playing in Oil Bowl, it is common for those still looking for a home get priority for nomination in this game. Four all of the years I have been involved those who have sighned respectively decline to those or the individual still looking and wanting to find a home. Its a tradition.....

S Franklin, Outstanding! I know that you are a proud papa!

I have a question or two for you.

Big question that is debated on GMG is, will Troy play OT or

DT? Which position will it be? What does Troy want to play?

I read somewhere on GMG that Troy passed up basketball

season to concentrate on weight training, strength and

conditioning. Has Troy "bulked up", and what is his

current weight?

Troy commited early to Coach Dodge and to North Texas,

so where there other schools that continued to recruit Troy,

even though Troy had made his commitment to NT?

Every NT fan is very proud that Troy decided to come to

North Texas, and look forward to watching Troy play!

See you at the games!

yes, it is a benefit of the position to give your children preferential treatment/privileges over the other kids. given the pay and exhaustive hours HS coaches invest, I understand that this happens.

I didn't know Seth was interested in continuing his football career. Good luck to him!
