My man just doesn’t get it…. Tuition, room, and board runs what 46,000 a year? All the benefits of free tutoring, food, facilities, travel expenses… that’s at least another 8,000-12,000 a year. So 58,000 a year. Pushing 250k across 4 years plus all the benefits of having a degree. This doesn’t even include all the debt they avoid. That’s a solid 300k deal. There is zero reason why a student athlete should require more. Simply graduating debt free is a huge benefit alone most don’t get. Nobody shows up to watch the individual players. It’s why I believe pro athletes are ridiculous overpaid as well. I like Luka and have his jersey. I would just as happily watch the Mavs without him. He doesn’t make the team. He is a single person who could no exist and nothing would change. That’s every athlete at any level.- 1
