Yesterday on the radio show Big-12 Conference Call they had Mack Brown on and were discussing UT’s spring practice. When asked what was the most pleasant surprise of the spring Brown replied “the progress of our QB’s – they are way ahead of where we thought they would be”.

"way ahead of where we thought they would be" could mean anything....such as "wow! they can walk and chew gum at the same time..they're way ahead of where we thought they would be!"

One of the radio hosts, Coach Jackie Sherrill, also commented on how impressed he was with a couple of the QB’s.

It still doesn't mean Mack isn't exagerating his quarterback situation.

He's probably not exaggerating. They're nowhere near ready for tOSU or OU, but the fact that Snead got in for spring ball is huge in his development. Remember, they're practicing/scrimmaging every day against one of the top defenses in the country.

Still, I think that UNT can possibly create some havoc with UT's offense if they can get pressure on these young guys, because they are going to make mistakes.

Mack Brown is a hell of a salesman, remember that. He isnt going to sit there and say, well, we really arent doing well... Im worried about our QBs, etc...

These are obviously outstanding recruits, else they wouldnt be headed to Texas. However, as Longjim stated, this will be their first Div1A game and there will be some mistakes.

I didn't think that was the job of the head coach. Someone needs to tell Mack to lay off the sales pitch. It is not helping his program. ph34r.gif
