One report said it was the most powerful one this year  sad.gif

It was actually the most powerful storm ever in the Atlantic Basin with a pressure of 882. Wilma is one bad mama. My thoughts and prayers to all who are in the path. This year has seen 3 of the most powerful storms(as measured by barometric pressure) ever recorded in Katrina, Rita, and Wilma.

Not sure if anyone picked this up on the "Non-Sports" section of the board, but having just gone through Rita, I thought I'd post it again.

YOU KNOW YOU LIVE ON THE GULF COAST WHEN.........

You have FEMA's number on speed dial.

You have more than 300 "C" & "D" cell batteries in your kitchen drawer.

Your pantry contains 20 cans of Spaghetti O's.

You are delighted to pay $3.00 for a gallon of gasoline.

You know the meaning of the word "contraflow."

You own more than three large coolers.

Three months ago you could not hang shower curtains, but now you can assemble a generator by candlelight.

You catch a 13 pound redfish in your driveway.

You can recite from memory parts of your homeowners insurance policy.

You had tuna fish more than five days in a row.

You can rattle off the names of three meteorologists on the WEATHER CHANNEL.

Someone comes to your door to tell you they have found your roof.

Ice is a valid topic of conversation.

Your new "drive-thru" meal consists of a MRE and bottled water.

Relocating to Missouri doesn't seem to be a bad idea.

You spend more time on your roof instead of your living room.

A battery powered TV is considered home entertainment.

Your child's first words are "hunker down".

Having a tree in your living room does not necessarily mean that its Christmas.

You know the difference between the "good side" of the storm and the "bad side" of the storm.

You go to work early and stay late to enjoy the air conditioning.

You stand in line for three hours at the Post Office to get your bills. And all you receive is a bulk mailing card that says "Have You Seen Me?"
