NT and Mitchell give away a win.

With 5 point lead and less than a minute to go, they go down and hastily shoot and miss on two straight possessions.   When all they had to do was keep from turning it over and run out the clock.

Great athletes on the team but the basketball IQ is lacking, especially at the end of games.

This was a bad loss for Coach Mitchell. The team is lacking conditioning as well. They seemed more worn out than WSU down the stretch. If their conditioning was better, I think they would play smarter. They should have won this game.

I’ll get criticized for saying this, but this loss is on Coach Mitchell.  A great player for NT, but she is not a coach nor a recruiter.  Sorry to say it.  And this avoidable loss to Wichita State should be the nail in the coffin.

Now go ahead and pile on.  I can take it.

tonight was a reminder that she is not where we (nor she) want her to be.  This is an ugly way to lose, but I don't think Wren would agree that this is the final nail; since last season she appears to be on an upward trajectory, and Shockers have been playing very well going back to the last 3 games of 2020-2021.

Terrible coaching loss tonight.

We get the ball with about 1:25 left in the game and a 5 point lead and proceed to turn it over 2 seconds later going for a knock-out instead of burning clock and setting up a good shot. It was over after that. That’s a classic in game situation that players at this level should know how to handle without needing to be reminded about.

Funny. If this were the men’s team people would be clamoring to defend them and say how good the team we lost to is and that it’s actually a good loss that the team will learn from.

No, I don't think so.   McCasland would be criticized more because a lot more would have watched the game.

Not a carbon copy but similar enough situations IMO. Both involved not finishing a game. The men had a little bit longer period to do it over. In any event, Wichita State is now 9-2. I highly doubt this game defines the season.
