  2. Roadrunner fans understand that Bleacher Report is far from the most reliable/accurate source for sports information but a person can't help but be flattered to have good things said about them.

  3. Where were all you jerks when I was a broke recent grad havin to buy my own tickets?

  4. What are you talking about? Bleacher Report is the most accurate sports outlets outside of Bob Costas. Wait, if forgot, Bob doesn't talk about sports anymore. But yes, it's always nice to have someone say something nice instead of the usual crapping on that most writers give Conference USA. Side bar, have y'all noticed Bob Costas looks oddly like Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker when he wears his black on black suits in cold weather? Take off one glove and it's a perfect match.

  5. With Harry's blessing, I'm making this thing its own thread. We've been talking for quite some time over on the "No more heckling" thread about ways to put loud fans in the section that Conference USA has deemed can no longer be allocated as student seating. We've set up a campaign to raise at minimum, $10,000, maxing out at $24,000 because that would be the entire section. I set the minimum at $10,000 because honestly, for fewer than 100 seats, this isn't going to have the desired effect. So if the campaign doesn't meet the minimum goal, nobody's card gets charged, we all take our balls and go home, no harm, no foul. If the campaign reaches $10,000, I will collect the money via crowdtilt and purchase the tickets through the recent alumni program via Eddie Delgado. I will assume no responsibility for ticket distribution. Christopher Walker has (by nomination) volunteered to be master distributor of tickets. I figure, he's young, he's got the connections, he lives in Denton, and his beard is glorious. What could possibly go wrong there? The campaign is set to end mid-day on July 27th. We've got 29 days, ladies and gentlemen. Lets fill apogee and keep our little home field advantage alive and well! Contribute! Contribute now! <--------that right there's the link to contribute. So go contribute! This post has been promoted to an article

  7. #67 is Minnesota and we aren't #66: Who's No. 66? This program hasn't suffered three losing seasons in a row since 1975-77.

  8. We just need to worry about ourselves and we have a head coach who knows how to do that. What's good for our conference is good for us. Especially when we are bowl eligible every year. So... Keep calm and GO MEAN GREEN!

  9. I coach at a local HS we have plenty of D1 caliber players and unt has not stepped foot on campus. There are probably 5-7 UTSA banner flyer calendar propaganda strewn throughout our field house and it pisses me off everytime. The craziest one is a Larry Coker camp poster in our backyard. Surely UNT could print up a giant coach Mac with the HOD bowl trophy saying come out to Mean Green camp!

  11. I'm sure he feels that home games at College Station weren't enticing either. Did this reporter forget that this CUSA school blew out A&M on New Year's Eve by 20? We were not a good team

  12. Not sure they have even put that info out or marketed it

  15. Yes yes and yes it's deserved. His athleticism earned him not only a spot on this team as a walk-on but he later beat out every one else on that roster, except the franchised back right now. This was also his real first year in the league. This year, if he can stay healthy, should be the year he starts to get some of Murray's carries and then some! Call me crazy but this guy is that good. Pick him up late in your draft if you are playing fantasy

  16. conference mate, Marshall, joins the list of those with an indoor practice facility. Smart move making it available to all sports. Cost: $14 million, but that also included a full indoor track and a permanent Hall of Fame http://www.herald-dispatch.com/x720297576/University-applies-finishing-touches

  18. An obvious attempt by the AD and its influence blaming the player?

  19. It's out there, but like most AD marketing endeavors, they're not exactly mobilized in such a way to really reach anyone.

  21. That 1:1.2 assist to turnover ratio bugs me. People complained about Chris' turnovers and his ratio was 2:1. Hopefully the step-down in competition leads to a big improvement. We need him to be the man here, in this offense.

  25. Bottom line: You put someone loud and abrasive in the seat, I'll send you a hundred bucks. How's that? Then you need aggressively publicize the concept here, on Facebook, at the July 30th reception, at Helmets and Heels, et all. I don't want to piss money away so one loan dude can stand among a smattering of the golf clap crowd who shame him into sitting down. The conference wants to shut us up. I want to follow the rules and have them fail miserably in their pursuit.

  26. US National Team midfielder Clint Dempsey aka Deuce teams with Houston rappers BIG HAWK and XO: What have you done to show your commitment to winning? Just this morning I threw out all the sauerkraut in my fridge AND drop kicked a German Shepard I saw on my way to work.

  29. And four SEC teams. Of course as so many have reminded, none of this means squat outside the 'feel good' factor. But, public perception is important to all of us. It certainly is to me and it's also important to ESPN, FOX Sports, and others. Just a very few months ago things were not so comfortable. It's almost July and it's mighty hot so I'm going to just relax and enjoy this nice breath of fresh cool air.

  30. And for those keeping score, that's 19 P5 schools we're ranked ahead of thus far as well as 8 of our 2014 opponents.

  32. From what I understand, he's choosy on these things. Willing to do these small one-off and specialized endeavors, not as willing to constantly leverage his fame or be a focal point for the program.

  37. I counted once. In a span of 43 games, we were in the ESPN Bottom Ten 27 times. TWENTY SEVEN! That doesn't include the times we were on the waiting list. I'll take bottom half approaching the median. That's a helluva leap.

  38. Well, we're not #73 either. Their first opponent in 2014 was their second opponent in their inaugural season. UTSA?

  39. So far only 7 teams with winning records have been listed. The rest were 6-6 or less. Winning records Vandy 9-4 Syracuse 7-6 Buffalo 8-5 Bos coll 7-6 Wku 8-4 ODU 8-4 UNLV 7-5 I would not rank many teams that have been listed ahead of us. Vandy is a surprise, but they lose a lot like us. Welcome to winning fellas. I guess it makes a lot of difference. Returning players means nothing if the team is losing.

  40. Based on multiple posts, I'm really glad you're not North Texas' recruiting coordinator.
    1 point
  41. I say that is an awful idea. North Texas is trying to bag some of the top tier local talent, not share facilities with them.

  42. I say we partner with Denton ISD and build a big indoor practice facility.

  43. Are our recent grads really in such bad shape that they can't spare $100? Damn. I would have hoped these were already sold out. Nothing like being able to brag to your buddies that you have front row season tickets.
