So, then were you also wearing a laker jersey until they got swept, then pulled it off revealing a lebron jersey underneath, soon to he followed by the same thing revealing a dirk/rose/durant depending on who wins the nba title? Yankme fans in Texas are vommit... sorry if that is offensive.... BUT IT IS TRUE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE LIVED HERE YOUR ENTIRE LIFE! GO MEAN GREEN AND GO RANGERS AND MAVS!3 points

You're absolutely right, but isn't this the same reason you dislike all of the UT fans that never attended that university? What do you call them? Oh, that's right...bootlickers. Kharma's tough sometimes.3 points

This will probably annoy the music-types here, but I wouldn't know if the Green Brigade was the best or the worst band out there. Sure, I want them to play the fight song and entertain us during the game with songs that get the crowd involved, but I am nowhere near the stands for halftime because it just isn't something that matters to me. I have always laughed at the people who claim that their band has never bean defeated at halftime. Its a football game. If I ever went to a UNT Music Dept. concert, I wouldn't expect to see our football team show up to practive hiking the ball during intermission, even if they were all there to support the university. I realize that lots of people here love the Green Brigade and a huge part of our attendance is from people who are there just to watch the band march at halftime and then leave. I don't mean to begrudge you of your efforts or your support. Its just that I believe that North Texas will have reached its fullest potential when most of the people at the stadium are there to watch the football game, not the halftime march.2 points

"I was there before the recent titles". You only missed the first 20+! Hard core, dude. Hard. core.2 points

The cool thing about this, is that the University could only afford turf to the 30 yard line. But with Empire's new promotion, we can afford to cover the entire field. Just call 1-800 588-2300 EMPIRE. Today.2 points

Last year, if Jub and Hank had been on the air for an extra 30 mins, would they have been able to get the word out and an emergency response team assembled to find Ray Tune?2 points

he is on track to play after the next semester... although Vito posted in on of his articles a month or s ago that he could play even sooner... I had not heard that, and have not seen any evidence for it... so I would assume he is still on track for being ready by/after next fall... and hopefully plays the 2012-2013 season as well, especially since right now we cannot find a fit for our final scholarship....1 point

This idea has been talked about for years and years... but TCU moving to the Big East and well the UMS being stubborn as usual it will not get done.... and ESPN? They would have no viewership for it1 point

That was in reply to why ESPN would not broadcast the tournament... and its not just us but why would espn broadcast UTA or SMU...? Where is the market for that game outside of the dfw area? TCU might garner some interest since they jumped ship to the big boy conference for basketball. That tournament would be the easiest part of their schedule and they would still lose1 point

When are people on here going to realize that JJ has to win something more than a Sun Belt title (marqee match up in the regular season or a NCAA tournament game) to get a serious look with a Big 6 school? Which, right now, I'm happy about (but times can always change).0 points

Yeah...sorry, but there is no way the Green Brigade is the best band in the nation. I'm sure I'll get -1s for this, but no one of this board can say with a straight face that we have the best band.0 points

Possible TY theory I'm floating out there: each major Big 12 Texas school has it's own psychology. A&M is bat-shit crazy loyal, Tech feels disrespected, Baylor enjoys being the lovable loser and Texas loves to have its collective cock stroked. This psychology also expands to the fan bases, but that's not the point. This seems to work for their players who make the NFL as well (thinking high-profile.) You've seen several big Texas players fall apart under the spotlight (Simms, VY, Ricky, Roy Williams, etc.) and a few have semi-remade themselves. Is it because they graduate from the happy-go-reach-around atmosphere that Austin provides and face criticism and consequences for their actions? I'm not sure how much there is to this, but I thought I'd just float it here and see what happens.-1 points

What's so wrong with VY being a college QB? Think those Husker teams in the 90s got their panties in a wad when some of their star skill players failed in the pros (or didn't make it?) This is what I mean about the Texas-complex? If we don't love Vince, something is obviously wrong with us.-1 points

Forgive the brashness here, but Andrew would have struggled in the NFL too. It doesn't ruin his college legacy. It is okay for a bad quarterback to make the playoffs - the NFL has parity now. It's not that big a deal. Eli Manning was the worst-rated QB for the past 5 years until he broke through last year. You could just as easily argue that the titans put Vince in a position to succeed by simplifying the playbook to the point of firing a great offensive mind in Norm Chow to keep things easy for Simple Vince. Good coaches tailor the game plan to their talent, and Fisher did a masterful job of that. VY was winning games with less than 15 pass attempts last year because running and defense gave them the best chance to win. You know I love and I know the over-the-top approach Emmitt is taking is getting to you, but please take a deep breath and think about this for a second. This argument can not take away the National Championship warm fuzzies in Austin a few years ago. Vince failing in the NFL will never, ever make the happy go away - I promise.-1 points

Don't worry - everything is fine. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...ng-update_N.htm Unless people boo Vince again or he can't win back the job from Old Man Collins (the guy who first made quitting cool.)-1 points

I must have been watching a different band during the football games because we are no where close to having the best marching band....unless....did we get lumped into the high school category?-1 points

Cute. I've been a Yankee fan since waaaaay before the recent titles. I can say that in all honesty, unlike all the recent "lifetime" Ranger fans. As to Eppy's question...nope, ridin and dyin with the Mavs (Nice to do some ridin and not so much dying these days)-1 points

Mantle, Marris, Howard, Ford, McCarney, Berra, Pepitone, to say nothing of Yankee greats from the past. When i started watching baseball, there was no Rangers, no Astros, not even the Colt 45s. Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese told me all I needed to know about baseball. And it was spelled Y-A-N-K-E-E-S. GO MEAN GREEN-1 points

The reason is for television. Typically the television cameras would be on the visitor side of the field so the home team and the stands behind the home team would appear in the shot. Therefore, the mid-field logo would face the visitors.-1 points

This is one fine logo! Can we put it on a white helmet, or can we design it to work on a green helmet. I really like this logo.-2 points

27 world titles. Nuff said. And spare me the "payroll" argument...nobody knocks IBM or Coca Cola for hiring the best and brightest they can. It's a business.-7 points
