I made some calls and sent some text messages today to see if anything moved on the recruiting front.

It’s pretty quiet at this point.

I did hear back from Louisiana linebacker Sergio Medina. Seemed like a good guy, which I will get to in a minute, but first …

Trinity Valley defensive end Kewan Alfred never got back to me. When I talked to his teammate Shawn McKinney this weekend, he has not made a decision yet. The same was true for Utah offensive lineman

Justin Manu, who was at Florida Atlantic over the weekend.

UNT still has a shot with both, but a school’s chances go down when player walks away without committing.

It looks like UNT is going to have to wait it out to see what a few of its top targets decide to do. It’s been a tough few years for UNT. It shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

The mid-term signing period begins on the 19th.
