Area Possibilities For The Last Scholarship?

Not much left at the High School level. (Dallas area) The best unsigned/committed kids are:

Julian Washburn 6-6/190 SF/PF Duncanville (Returned to D'ville from NJ to play the last 5-6 games. Son of NCState's Chris Washburn)

Doward Evans 5-9/165 PG Dallas Carter (Best outside shooter around; does not have point guard skills)

Desmond Henry 6-4/185 SG/SF Irving (Nice game; 3rd best on team behind Junior PG Jevante Thompson and top ranked Fresh. Keith Frazier)

Excellent walk-on possibilities:

DeKabrien Eldridge 6-3/185 SG Dallas Lincoln

Derico Dandridge 5-9/155 PG DeSoto

Desmond Flentroy 5-10/155 PG

For the hell of it. Transfer possibilities. Most of these were highly recruited but haven't seen much clock since HS. And yes, Bobo is looking for a new home:

would...he would dominate the paint. could you imagine he and george together?

could someone remind me who we signed for next year...i can't find it anywhere?

Alonzo Edwards.

If Bobo transfered he'd have to sit out next year so he and George wouldn't play together

I'd still take Morgan. He could dominate the paint in the Belt.

J'mison Morgan was highly recruited by UCLA, Kansas, Alabama, and LSU coming out of high school because he had the prototype build to be a dominating collegiate center. At 6-10, 265 he was big, strong, and perfectly built for playing the zone defense under the basket.

UCLA's coach Ben Howland decided that Morgan needed to trim down and become a lot quicker for their high pressure man defense. Morgan worked incessantly and lost nearly 40 pounds to fit Howland's system. Problem was, UCLA has signed numerous highly ranked big forwards with better shooting skills that are better equipped speed-wise for Howland's defensive system. The result has been that Morgan has sat much of these past two years. UCLA has recently signed the top ranked high school center in the nation so Morgans playing situation at UCLA is not expected to improve in coming years.

I have little doubt that Morgan will be leaving UCLA after this season. He will have to sit out a transfer year and will have the opportunity to rebuild his strength to hopefully become a dominating center like everyone had originally forecast.

And hopefully that all happens at North Texas; it's the home team, it's where his father starred, and it's where he's wanted.

Somewhere, right now... untgeorge is scowling in his sleep, having troubled dreams. And he doesn't know why.

Well, I'm sure there was once some Indiana State alum that never wanted that local Larry Bird kid back because he never got much playing time at Indiana.

I'm sure that should the day ever come when Morgan announces his intention to leave UCLA, George will be rooting for him to come here as hard as any of us.

But until then, he's probably gritting his teeth each time you or I bring up J'mison's name.

Not trying to be funny, but I had heard Chris Washburn essentially became a homeless person after he was kicked out of the NBA for drug violations. I'm glad to see he made something out of his life after all.
