I lived in Helena Al for 7 years, and I can assure you the Alabama fans

are passionate about Alabama football. The practice of naming their kids

after Univ of Alabama coaches and players is not uncommon. There are

alot of kids named "Paul", "Bear", "Bryant", "Bama", etc-

I remember a proud father actually named his son, "Rolltide", and

another family that had a baby girl, named "Crimson"

The same holds true for Auburn coaches and players-

In Alabama, you are either a Bama fan or a Auburn fan, nothing

else is allowed.

Yep. I worked with a guy from "MONT-gumry" for a while back in the 90's, and used to yell at him: "Is Auburn gonna whip Alabama's ass this year?" or "War Eagle!!" to get him riled up.

He always took the bait, and he'd turn so red I thought he'd explode.

It really is sad they named the kid Saban. When he's like 18 and they say where did you get that dumb name he'll have to say my parents are whacked and named me after a coach that was there for 18 months and then left for an NFL Europe job!

Also, is it me or is that other kid too old for a "binky"? Hopefully it's the baby's.
