CFN's Top 20 Coordinators

6. OC Gus Malzahn, Arkansas – Not since Gerry Faust has a high school coach made the jump to the college ranks, and been such a lightning rod for discussion.  Malzahn became Houston Nutt’s first-ever offensive coordinator on Dec. 9, but it’s who followed him to Fayetteville that really made the hiring such a slam dunk.  Joining the coach will be four kids from his state championship team, including can’t-miss quarterback Mitch Mustain and blue chip wide receiver Damian Williams.  Malzahn will also be bringing an offense that’s very much the antithesis of the traditional between-the-tackles Hog ground game.  The new coordinator favors a wide-open spread attack that employs the hurry-up, no-huddle philosophy, and long term, could attract a whole different caliber of skill position player to the University.

I moved to Springdale Arkansas 2 years ago, and watching this coach is freaking amazing. He had the number 1 rated QB in the nation, and ended up finishing 2nd in nation in several categories.......got a lot of the offense to sign with Arkansas.....wish we would recruit in Arkansas.....look out for next year, Siloh Christian High School (not sure if I spelled it right) will be in the top 10 nationally.....also from Springdale, AR. GO MEAN GREEN !
