But its his direct boss. I imagine a coach would like to know who is leading the athletic department and whether they get along before taking a job. Not saying it's a deal breaker, but I imagine a candidate would have a little pause and would ask questions about what direction Smatresk is going for a new AD.

Its gotta happen before Monday of next week. The potential to lose players, recruits and miss out on the Transfer Portal could really hurt UNT. So a decision on a HC must be made ASAP
