1 – Run Defense

It is hard to win football games when the rushing defense allows almost 350 yards per game. That is what has happened to the Tigers over the last four games as a collection of SEC and non-conference foes have just had their way with Mizzou on the ground. Be it scheme or desire – or likely a mixture of the two – teams are gashing Missouri with chunk plays and also extending drives with shorter pickups on the ground. The Mean Green have a back in DeAndre Torrey who went for 119 yards against Louisiana Tech last time out so expect to see North Texas running the ball until the Tigers stop them.

Three things must do to win todays game:

1  on offense outscore Mizzou

2. on defense don't let Mizzou score more points than our offense scores

3.  Keep our kickers off the field.

Exactly!

But here's my prediction. Mizzu knows we can't throw the football, so in an effort to stop the run, they'll put 7 or 8 men in the box and make us throw the ball. To counter that, we'll run Torry up the middle twice to begin our offensive series which puts is in another 3rd and long, then punt and the rout is on. Book it!
