  1. I know y'all probably don't care, but here are my thought on the game. I know we only won by 3, but we flat out dominated this game. One of their TDs came after a BS interference call on Royce. If they don't call that, we have 1st and Goal from the 5 to go up 31-14. Our defense can flat out play. Orr is awesome. Stojkovic has solidified his spot on this defense. When Phillips gets healthy, he and stock will start. Offensively, we looked great in the first half. We went ultra conservative in the second half on both sides of the ball. This is the best defense we've fielded in quite a while. DT made several nice throws. For the first time all year, we threw the ball downfield, and I'll be damned if good things didn't happen. I love that they're figuring out more ways to get the ball in James Hamilton's hands. He is the second best player on our offense, but he just happens to play the same position as the best player on our offense. I love that they're figuring out more ways to get the ball in Dunbar's hands. Every defense we play will be keying on 5. We lined him up in different spots all night and they couldn't stop him. Also, that may have been the quietest 280 yards I've ever seen. Our offensive line is improving every game. Our defensive line played their butts off too. Sarge and AK can flat out get after QBs. For the first time since I can remember, our defense was flying around and bringing the wood. Several impressive hits tonight. I know we probably won't win out, but I will be upset if we don't make every game competitive. I know everyone says Dodge left the cupboard bare, but this team has more than enough talent to beat the rest of the teams in our conference. Even though I expected to win, I can't explain how good it feels for it to come to fruition. This was by far the best night I have had as a fan of the Mean Green. Here's to another win next week. Go Mean Green!!

  4. I didn't care man. I didn't care that we beat spare Indiana. They're Big Ten, and the win felt good. I don't know how tall the end zone wall is, but I jumped down, then help my kids and wife down. Then, I ran to midfield with my five-year old son, put him on my shoulders and began hugging players, shaking their hands, and slapping their backs. We shook McCarney's hand and hugged him. Ditto Bowen. Aaron Fortenberry looks like a 6'4" leprechaun, and he said to us, "Thanks for coming out." No, problem, dude. We'll be back to watch ya'll whip FAU's ass in two weeks as well. But, we won't run onto the field again until the final canon blast of the Middle Tennessee State game when you guys wrap up your Sum Belt title. (We also fist bumped Babe Laufenberg. As we were exiting the stadium he and a guy were walking behind the student section entrances. I yelled, "Babe!" He turned around in his IU polo shirt and saw my extended fist...and did me the courtesy of a fist bump. Thanks, Babe, wherever you are.)

  5. Brelan is bonafide threat. Problem is Thompson missed him on several plays when he was open. I love the win, but DT wasn't very good, IMO. Bynes & Outlaw made two great plays on two poorly thrown passes in the endzone. Dunbar's TD was all Dunbar. I think Brelan should touch teh ball on reverses, etc, if possible. Also, Power is a huge target. The passing game, right now, is being hindered by QB play.

  7. I don't like taking the 'burning his redshirt year' talk. Dude who cares....these players are recruited to play and you recruit ever year. If the guy can help which this team needs all the help it can get then there is nothing wrong with that. Plus it gives him experience for the next 3 years he has here. I say play anybody that can help now or that will play so it will help the next season.

  8. ...you would not believe the defense. Flying to the ball...knocking passes away...jacking up Hoosiers with some bone-jarring hits. I think this thing is coming together. And, Zach Orr...he's the leader of the pack, ya'll. He's in or near almost every play. He's the real deal.

  11. Hey guys...how about the kickoff coverage. It was great. Several times IU started inside their 20 because our guys got down there so fast. Olen also kicks a real high ball. Atterberry also buried IU deep a couple of times. Special teams cover teams were a weapon tonight.

  12. Watching ASU/USC game and the bands are wearing tshirts and pants on national TV!!! And the TCU band made the WFAA news with tshirts on.... So sloppy By the way, love how the GB can play Emblem of Unity march, some pop song I can't remember after the 1st quarter, and it's other standards and still have people complain about the lack of variety. I think Beerman should do a solo with the GB at the next home game.

  19. My mom, 61, parks at Fouts, walks 10 steps to the shuttle, which drops her off at the gate. I don't know if it can get any easier than than. I do think they should run a shuttle from Fouts to Apogee and have it make stops on all four sides of Apogee for everyone. Less excuses for everyone.

  20. Ok, I'm tired of this...sorry UNTcrazy... but this chapps me. I don't give a flying f what those folks are wearing... The band uniform thing is a tired conversation, and quite frankly, I've always thought band uniforms are COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY WORTHLESS AND STUPID LOOKING! Shorts and a matching t-shirt are completely sufficient. That was a very powerful and precise sound they have. There is no question in my mind that if there is a better marching band out there, I'd have to see it to believe it. Go Mean Freakin Green!

  21. i marched in the green brigade from 95-97...we always wore our uniforms. we were allowed to take off our jackets for the third quarter, but that's it. wear the uniforms...you'll live and look good.

  26. As a current member of the GB I have to disagree with you guys, just because it feels nice outside doesn't mean it feels the same in full uniform. Try putting on your biggest winter coat and running around outside right now for 10 minutes straight and that's what the halftime show is like for us.

  27. Great win by the team! I lost my voice again yelling but it was worth it. I had a little sports cry when I was leaving the stadium and looking at those victory fireworks.

  28. The first two games at our new stadium have been two of the worst officiated games I have ever seen, and worst of all it has been in favor of the visiting teams. I have never seen such bad ball spots as I did tonight.

  29. Um...No. Our boys deserved some up close and personal "Great Job" or "Congrats". Several times I heard fans say "Great job" or "Congrats" to our players...the player responded "Thank you for all of the support". They needed that last night no question. GO MEAN GREEN! JRock

  31. I don't get what all the fuss is about with his performance. To me he played great tonight, many people have stated he played below par. When I rewatched the game on ESPN3 when I got home, I noticed he had on a knee brace and was favoring it a little and wincing. That started halfway through the 2nd quarter and he still had several runs after that that went for positive yardage. He threw 3 TD's and had 201 yards. And he did it on a bum knee, come on people, give the man credit

  32. The aggressiveness of the team is becoming evident. We sat just left of our sideline and the professionalism of the coaching staff is night and day to what garbage we have seen since the New Orleans Bowl era. Even if the negative nancys of the fanbase/public look close enough, there are little gems of improvement throughout. I like to think of these things as the steel framing, concrete and mortar that is binding the most important components of our program. It's a great time to start inviting past alums, friends and neighbors to the games. JRock

  35. Lifer, you should be praising the staff, not criticizing them. After all, this staff has not come close to putting Cooper Jones on the field. Right now, he is the future QB of this program, and he will get a redshirt while bulking up in the weight room. .

  36. What we are doing right: I would like to extend some props to those in my section of the alumni side... The 3rd and 4th downs were much better with overall participation. Well done...I was a bit critical for the Houston game. My section improved this game with this. What we are still NOT doing right: 1. Staying in the freaking parking lot too late. The guys in my own tailgate laugh at me for saying it is time to pack up at 5:00 and leaving by 5:15 OR 5:30. I can't imagine how deflating it must be for the team to get pumped up to go out on the field and see the freaking stands 2/3rds empty. College football is an emotional game for these young man. If we have sellouts, maybe this will change... but this needs a culture change with us overall, students and alumns. Spread the word, please? 2. Overall attendance. It was truly sad to see only 21k show up. For those that did, PROPS! We are on the way to having a real home field advantage. For those of you that didn't show, I know everyone has stuff going on, but we really need to get those students in the stadium... RV and Mac are working on this, and I believe this is improving... I worry about the lackluster conference foes taking us back below 20k again... Just terrible. This was a BIG 10 OPPONENT. Come on. Especially one that we could AND DID BEAT! Buzz kill here... Maybe we should just paint the bleachers and concrete green so that it isn't so obvious when the stands are empty? Would that require us to commit to a green color? Go Mean Green!

  39. Did anyone hear that ball crash into Stradford's chest like a gunshot and then see him flop like a fish? I thought he would have had a better chance to catch it with his facemask as in Necessary Roughness. On another pass when he was overthrown but wide open for a TD I wasn't dissapointed because he would have dropped it anyway. He really is horrible.

  40. There were at least 2 flags that could have been thrown on us for roughing the passer. Maybe more.

  42. The student side was loud. Our end zone started to get loud as well. They guy in front of us started yelling too when his wife left to go to the bathroom. Before, they were quiet. I think people in the end zone are starting to get the hang of the advantage of the noise factor. As in the Houston game, Indiana had to burn timeouts deep in our end of the stadium. If we ever really fill that thing up, and people really do yell as loud as they can, it will be impossible to the opposing teams to communicate. Two thumbs up to the folks who design Apogee. The noise is a factor.

  43. I watched on ESPN3 (but listened to radio account)l.... that pass interference call was awful...One of the calls the NT annoucers even stated that the person must have cralwed over the first down line because it sure wasn't when he went down. It seems that BCS refs often make BS calls for their confernece members. Troy was robbed late in the game at LSU a few years ago and UNT was robbed at UT back in late 80's... That one was the worse one ever.... there was at least 6-7 calls that were impossible to believe... They won by about 3 and likely should have lost by 3 TDs.. Get neutral refs for non-conf. games.

  45. #23 handled punt returns tonight. Brelan was back their strictly for Kick Offs. Don't know why, but if it means a win, I'll take it. Speaking of Brelan, it looks like DT took a couple of long shots at him that were over thrown. If the passes connected, I venture to guess Chancellor would have taken it all the way. It was nice to see Chico trying to get him involved in the offense (in that regard).
