The fallout from UNT’s breakout football season continued today when the USA Today Coaches Poll came out.

UNT received two votes in the poll.

It’s been a long time since UNT received votes. I’m not exactly sure what year it was, but the Mean Green received a vote in either the preseason or postseason poll back in the bowl run of the early- to mid-2000s.

In an interesting twist, Louisiana-Lafayette also received a vote.

We went over this a while back, but ULL and UNT rank first and second, respectively, for the longest AP Top 25 poll drought nationally.

Looks like we've got one more big "Not done ________ since whatever year" to still overcome. Hopefully that one will drop soon too.

well that is a nice list.... maybe a bit exaggerated though.

You have to have been ranked at least once to make the list. Number of polls since last time ranked for the following teams (among others) is not applicable: ULM, Tx State, UTSA, MTSU, western Kentucky, FAU, FIU, Ark State, New Mexico, Troy, UAB, Idaho, UNLV, Buffalo, akron, and several more.
