2012 Available Scholarships And Signing Periods

Barring unexpected redshirts, injuries, or early departures, North Texas is scheduled to lose three players in the outgoing class of 2012.

Alonzo Edwards - 6'7" PF

Kedrick Hogans - 6'7" PF

Justin Patton - 6'7" G/F

North Texas currently has two solid verbal commitments from high school recruits:

Clark Overlander - 6'5" G/F

Brandon Pye - 6'1" G

Barring interest from high-major or BCS caliber talent that can't be passed up, it is reasonable to assume that our final 2012 scholarship will be dedicated to a post player.

Early signing period for the incoming class of 2012 is November 9th-16th, 2011.

Regular signing period runs from April 11th - August 1st, 2012.

At the time we started this thread, there was one 2011 ship left to fill, and Knox would still have been on the roster for 2012-13. We've got two ships we can use this summer, and my expectation is that we'll use one for sure and the other on a potential late qualifier.

Depending on how the situations for Patton (academics) and Mitchell (early departure for the NBA) develop... We may have a full roster of scholarships already set for 2012-13.

I expect we will likely end up signing 1 more player during the spring signing period. Spring signing period begins April 11th.
