I agree. Outdoor hockey is great for the NHL.

It's fantastic. I'm flipping between it and all the Bowl games....and yet I seem to be watching more of the hockey game than anything else.

I loved it. 70,000 fans seemed to as well.

I thought it was fun to have to consider the wind advantage for the shoot out. I liked the 20 minute periods divided in half to give time for the "double Zamboni" ice repair. And I liked the fact that there were no crazies banging on the glass.

Of course, southern based teams would never be able to play such a game, I don't guess.

For most of the NHL's history, the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks were the league's southernmost teams. Kind of makes you wonder why they didn't try outdoor games back then.

Had better ratings than any of the Stanley Cup finals. I watched more of this game than I did all of the NHL postseason games. It was cool to watch the snow flying up. Hockey is not normally a sport that transfers to TV well, but this game did and was fun to watch.
